I agree. I would rather host the banners for my paysite than letting someone else do it. One advantage is that the banner would load quicker than the bogged down sevrer that the galleries are hosted on and thus be seen first.

you're right, why should affiliates even get paid at all...
maybe someday soon all affiliates will be replaced with in-house traffic people...then you won't have to worry about expenses anymore.

Agreed, but sponsor programs also work hard to keep up retentions, add new advertising materials, keep a profitable margin and keep affiliates happy. With no programs, where would affiliates send their traffic to?

Dont fucking bother, way back then we paid for content, hosting -- anyone remember the days of 1200 USD per mbs??? -- site design, you name it. Sponsors didn't bring the checks to the house and wash the car for you while they were there to drop it off the day after you made a sale.

yup, instead of 50-60 generic niche sites with the same backends, we've concentrated on unique content, member retention, high end customer service and specializing in building quality sites.

Our Monster Dick site also functions as a quality hardcore site and contains interracial content plus a bunch of other hardcore content. However, instead of 2-3 sets of photoshopped pics, we have true studs with big dicks as our primary focus and our members love us for it.

I remeber the REAL panic of getting a gallery on the hun and fucking up the linkcode...these days of under half a dollar per gig bacnwidth, it would only be a minor "oh shit" but back then it was a matter of that extra wasted money could have been spent on more content or upgrading my hosting package...

one big hint: a well written textlink can outpull a banner about 10:1 and doesn't burn any bandwidth at all ;-)

so let me get this straight - you are basically calling them cheap (for not hosting the banner) but your goal here is to be cheap (by not hosting the banner).

I will host whatever anyone has as long as they are sending joins.... Hosting costs me money and I pay the webmaster more than I make per join. 60% and I eat the processing fees + the bandwidth if you can send joins.

What I don't like is TGP webmasters that get 20k-500k hits a day and can't get shit to convert.. I know my shit converts, so as long as the webmaster is doing his job then I know my job is covered.

I rember my first taste of free hosting...I don't think there were any "official" freehosts then
a webmaster by the handle of DJ-JD offerd me free hosting and even paid for the domain (they cost $35 per year back then) and all I had to do was fly his banner in the upper half of every html page...it was hardcoded and done on the honor system.
