WTF is that? Google Ad Words VAT for Eu citizens?

To current EU citizens - do you pay VAT on Google Ad Words?

What does it mean?

If you spend $100 on campaigns, they are also charging you 22 or 7% VAT ?

WTF ?

Not only that, if your country is in the EU you'll have to pay in euro, minimum CPC is 0.05 euro, which equals to around 0.06 US dollar (20% more than US advertisers have to pay as minimum CPC) + 21% VAT if you are not VAT registered.

So for $100 a US advertiser gets 2000 clicks (assumed all bids are set to minimum CPC)

To get these same 2000 clicks a EU advertiser has to pay around 145 US dollar
(2000 clicks x 0.05 euro + 21% VAT = 121 euro => equals around $145 )

nice, eh?

If you're registered as a company or even self employed, you can claim back all sales tax. I think most countries in the EU don't have a minimum amount to be vat registered.

The UK does but its low, if you're not earning that much you wouldn't be buying addwords.

So if you do this legally, it makes no difference at all, as its 100% reclaimable.

Damn my post is disapeared, maybe because if the server change.

If you have a VAT number, you have to pay it, but you can get it back from your taxes.

And in Holland thats 19% for ads.
