I was Scammed
 

Well... when will I learn my lesson... Here is my story...

The other day on ICQ, I get a message from some guy in the Phillipines saying he'll work for 1 month for $350. So.... against my better judgement I think about it and tell him that I need 1 sample site for free then ill hire him for 1 week. Sounds fair right? I mean he is soliciting me for work why not?

Well i get the 1 sample site... its decent, good enough to use... So I think maybe this will work out right? I tried the outsourcing trials etc... but it just didn't work...

Anyways, I get my design, I like it, send the guy 50% payment for the first week so i don't get ripped off. The first day goes by I see like 1 hour of effort done on my assignments.... So I start to think fuck im getting scammed....

The 2nd day comes, and instantly he is harping me for the balance of my money non-stop. So I tell him that when i see progess on the assignments I will send the balance....

shit I did send him 50% and he only worked 1 day but whatever....

The dude flips out, and disappears... I guess I learned my lesson....

don't really want to kill this guys source of income but anyone who has ever worked with me knows that I am fair and overly flexible, this guy was just an asshole.

So, i said my 2 Cents... anyone who wants to know more can email or ICQ me if they even fcking care... i jsut had to vent!

Well what can you do... I'm not talking about alot of money here but its the principal...

I'll be the first to admit that I am a fool but fuck it, if it worked out i would have been pretty damn happy.

50%/50% is standard in US, however you want to at least know the guy before you can do this kind of deal.

Can we see the freebie sample?

We usually charge 30% before to test the customer if is able and willing to pay.
The rest after we deliver the work. I think this is fair :)

A guy from the Phillipines asked for 50% and you gave it to him :( Don't trust anybody from over there. Hell my own relatives scammed me when I visited.

I think its because of the exchange rate of the dollar...
