That's one of the possible 50 in and around the region yesterday. I believe it was labeled an F3. Surprisingly, there were no deaths or injuries associated with this particular one. The deaths and injuries were near Uthik (sp?), with 4 dead and 4 injured, three of the injured being school children. :(

Damn, why don't those things happen where I live. I would love to see one of those things in action. Of course I would be a mile away :1orglaugh

You can hear Jeff (the gentleman and storm spotter who shot the video) at one point say, "Oh God, I hope those people are all right!" as he filmed the tornado cut in front of a farm house. As I understand it from one of the spotters I talk to up thataway, the house and its occupants are fine, the tornado missed it by less than 50 yards. :eek2

Two miles, actually. NWS Spotters are told 2 miles away and parallel to the storm. :thumbsup

Scary as hell, I assure you.

Already brought my dogs inside after only a half hour on their run. The sky looks funky, though there are no watches or warnings yet. There will be soon, I'm sure. Even the cats are inside, and the birds are not even chirping, much less flying around.

Creepy green light. :(

The noise that a tornado makes is really creepy.

zzgundamnzz 04-21-2004 08:46 AM

That thing is scary. Im glad I live here in the west coast. Only thing we have to worry about here are wildfires and floods.

Actually, L.A. had a tornado a couple of years ago.
