LeBron James Wins ROY Award!

As if there was any doubt. No one has ever done anything like what he has for his age.

Only the 3rd rookie to score 20+ points a game and have 5+ rebounds and assists a game. Jordan and Oscar Robinson were the other two, not bad company.

Kick ass!! I'm glad Roy Rodgers will live in infamy now! Thx for this story!

okny 04-20-2004 10:52 AM

He did his thing this year and that fact that he is only 19 years old, he will bring a lot to the game and much more to come in the future.

Sosa 04-20-2004 10:53 AM

Him and melo shoulda shared it.

Melo gets his team to the playoffs in a tougher division and put about pretty close to the same #'s that lebron did.

But still, it's more impressive when you look at them individually what LeBron did.

To come right from high school and do what he did is something else.

ChewbaCreative 04-20-2004 11:00 AM

he's a good yound player, almost like me in 19 :)

beergood 04-20-2004 11:01 AM

Lebron had better stats that Melo right?

Wouldn't it be awesome to see those two on the same team for just one year!? :thumbsup

By all reports he has a great work ethic. Wants to be better than Jordan, and will bust his ass to be as good as he can be.

I wish him all th best.

Now.... if he could just come up to Toronto and kick the ass of our former superstar....

:rasta

axelcat 04-20-2004 11:13 AM

It should of been carmelo anthony

cosis 04-20-2004 11:36 AM

going from high school to the pro's is so much more impressive, Lebron deserved it 100%

Nasty D 04-20-2004 11:41 AM

I agree with sharing the award with Melo....they both are two of best rooks in to come into the league in a very long time. Just think how good they will be when they fill out like Jermaine Oneil did....damn!:glugglug

cosis 04-20-2004 11:42 AM

oh yeah when your name is mentioned with Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson as the only rookies to average at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists per game you know he's going to be something special

those two went to college too

Melo won the NCAA as a frosh, not to shabby either!

MetaMan 04-20-2004 11:44 AM

wtf are u people idiots or do u just buy into any hype u hear?
Melo 100% should have won the award, have any of you even seen their games? Melo is a much more dominating force on the court than Lebron, Nike probly payed the NBA to gaurantee Lebron won it.

Strife 04-20-2004 11:47 AM

No doubt...nobody in their right minds would have expected Lebron to do what he did coming straight out of high school.

Rodent 04-20-2004 11:54 AM

Carmello should have won it, or it at least been shared between the two, he went to college and proved his shit there won a championship and shouldnt be penalized for that.
To bad for James that his idol is mentoring Carmello instead of him :) thats gotta burn his ass hairs.

Mr. Mojo Risin 04-20-2004 11:55 AM

Carmello's stats are better I think.. he should have won it

Huggles 04-20-2004 11:58 AM

Lebron made it fun to watch my Cavs games again.

Being from Cleveland, it's been really hard to watch since the Larry Nance, Mark Price days.

I was following Lebron's high school performances, he was playing in front of 18,000 plus crowds, in high school games. He matured very fast and deserves huge props.

My take is that he and Melo were both outstanding this year, but Lebron had way more stress with his being #1 over all, playing for a loser team with a bunch of nobody's and having to perform at a high level.

Lebron is greatness, he can be the best in the NBA one day. He has the skills and mental capacity.

What if Kobe or Shaq leaves the Lakers and one goes to the Cavs? As a Laker fan, I'd hate to see one leave, but if it happens, send them to Cleveland!

Webasic 04-20-2004 12:10 PM

btw. There's no sharing. These awards are voted on.

BigFish 04-20-2004 12:13 PM

LeBron is bad ass. His dunks are awesome.
