Worldcom emerges
MCI survived their Chapter 11 and they're ba-a-ack.
Probably a good time to pick up some of their stock. |
What does this mean for old shareholders? My girl used to work for MCI and was sitting on a shitload of shares before they went under. Could they potentially be worth something again?

I think there is still the class action lawsuit though. I didn't read the details but know I got automatically entered into the class action suit against them. I had a ton of shares of WCOM (could have been retired already) and they bottomed while I was still employed there back in 2000 - 2001.
Isn't MCI just the Long Distance division of WorldCom though? What about the rest of the company they were split off from each other for some time. I havn't kept up on it since end of 2000. |
from what i heard the equity will be recycled, meaning debt holders will replace the currect equity shareholders.
mci has who i would consider one of the best ceo's in the world. once the equity thing is fixed up i would look into investing in mci for sure. they changed the name to mci because worldcom has too much scandal around the name. |
