I keep gettin thos grey "Message Service" pop-ups, how the hell do I get rid of them?

I've tried Ad-aware and Spybot to try and remove them, but they keep coming back!

XP, go to the Control Panel, then to Administrative Tools, and then to Services. Highlight "Messenger" and click on "Stop." You must also set the "Startup Type" to "Disabled."

Ok got it. What do you mean by set the "startup Type" to "Disabled"?

No problem....


When you double click the "messenger" option ...a w i n d*w is opened called messenger properties

there is a drop down box halfway on that page

click on it and select "disabled" ( Your choices are Automatic, Manual or Disabled)
