Why do barbers take Mondays off?
 

What's the deal with that? Good barbers seem to be off on Mondays, and mine combines it with Sunday as well..

everyone wants their hair done on the weekends so they work sundays and take off mondays.

I actually just got my hair cut today, and not only was he open, but he's open LATE on mondays! :thumbsup

Plus it was one of the best cuts hes ever done.

Not saying that there are some undercover magic barbers who give good cuts and are open on Monday; just saying that the notorious BARBERs are closed Mondays :)

Maybe because they got lots to do during Sundays they feel its just right for them to have their Mondays off.

because a lot of people get their haircut on the weekends, so they cant close on sunday. they need a day off so its monday instead.

Pretty much. I used to work in the "beauty biz" (as a sales rep) and most operators work Tues-Sat, with Sunday and Monday off. It's just kind of traditional.

They dont go off on Sundays since thats when most people come in, so they opt for Monday instead.

Because most of them are unionized, which means 5 days a week, 40 hours a week. Saturdays are busy because most people have that day off, so they do Sunday and Monday so they get a two day weekend.

I used to work in a barbershop when I was in highschool.

The reason is if you needed a hair cut for Monday you should have got it on Sunday. But they are also closed on sundays. So you should go saturday, but they are closed sunday and monday so everyone goes on saturday so you have to wait a while so you cant go, so you go on friday. But half the people realize that saturdays are busy so they go fridays so its also crowded, so you decide its best to go on Thursday instead.

So basically, the next time you want your hair cut on Monday, just get it cut on Thursday.
