What are the general content laws when giving free content and hosted galleries
for affiliates to promote your paysites? I was informed by a content provider that I was not licensed to use his content in this way. I read the licenses and I saw it mentioned I was not allowed to use the content in this way. I apologize to the content provider. I looked at the licenses for other content from other providers and I don't see anything that restricts it, unless I read them wrong.
thanks |
They typically do not want you to alter the images, crop them etc. Some may let you crop them.
And you always must be promoting the site that has given you the images. Thats pretty much it, but I would check with each individual company, they all differ a little. :thumbsup |

ok thank you! I will be sure to double check the licenses next time and re-check when preparing to use content in this way |

Oh, I see. I misunderstood. Hit me up on ICQ if you need content.
:thumbsup |
I think some also worry about over saturation. Giving it to you and 20 others to use on specific sites is already plenty... giving it to you for you to give to potentially 1000+ webmasters to flood TGP's with essentially makes their content....
well, they might as well sell it on bargainbasementcontent.com |
Paul Markham has em cheap and allows giving it to affiliates, barginbasementcontentstore.com or something like that.

If you buy matrix sets, off course they don't wnat you to give it to all affiliates. Most of them have a 10 domain name limit or less in the contract |
I've had sponsors who give away all the content they have, but i've talked to sponsors who could only host the content on one of their domains.. because of licensing.
All depends on the sponsor :2 cents: |
