I know a certain party with services at C<k>hoopa, and they've suffered almost as much downtime as one can possibly suffer and nearly 100% of it was the fault of the hosting provider.

I would suggest C<k>hoopa to my worst enemy, but why not save yourself the hassle, headache and bullshit downtime and go with a real hosting company?

I have a ded. server at NatNet already... I was just looking at them coz I talked to a friend who runs a similar TGP as I do only his site loads 3x as fast as mine.

Still not sure why this is.

I use them for one server and I have never had any downtime that I have noticed.

C H O O P A runs a solid hosting company, I am sure Jact is probably talking about me when he mentioned the downtime.

Sure they have ups and downs but they have always made up any downtime to me.

Fuck that, I've been with c h o o pa forever, I dont even remember a instance of downtime and support is awesome. Most hosts cant compete with these guys, and thats probably why its a banned word here on GFY.

i've had a dedicated server with them for almost a year now. i've never noticed any downtime except once for like 15 minutes. as far as the reason why the name is banned on gfy is because one of cho-opas customers stole some of lenmans content and put it on their site, lens mailed hahahahahaha and he thought they ignored the problem, so he banned the name. tho i think eventually it was resolved and the stolen content was removed. cho-opa has always been good for me.

good to know the story behind it... I thought c h o o p a did something wrong.

If you only knew 1/10th of the downtime your server's had you'd be singing a different song. Monitoring software is available :glugglug

I was with hahahahahaha for about 2 months in 2003. The pricing over there was fantastic but my server was up an down like lens is on a donkey.

In all seriousness tho, my reliability over there was horrific. I can't say how it is now.

I actually moved from hahahahahaha to WEBAIR and I couldn't be happier. Downtime is non existant at webair. In the grand scheme of things, what is more important, sites that load 10ms faster with lots of downtime or 100% uptime?

Tells you something about the power of this industry (zero), the host is in NJ, USA and yet no one is taking legal action.

hahahahahaha are bottom feeding scumbags. They'll host anything you throw their way. They are the host du jour for many spammers, hijackers, and content thieves.

Yea, they're very lenient in what they host, but they do have some serious bandwidth at their disposal. They're quite big in the gaming community aswell.

You don´t remember? Come on, almost a year ago, when they move datacenters, sites went down for more that 2 days, 4 in some cases...

I really hate C h o o p a at that time, but beyond that, I never got problem with c h o o p a, they are a good company that once make a fucking huge mistake.

Seems only the smaller clients got the shaft on that one. Several major clients of theirs were well taken care of before that and didn't experience any downtime :)
