RSX Type-S vs. Subaru WRX
Anyone here have either of these cars? Or better yet; have driven both and would be able to compare the two? I am thinking of getting a new car, and these are what I've narrowed my choices down to.
I've heard they are both great cars, for every day driving as well as a sports car - which is exactly what Im looking for. Just wondering how well both of them hold up in general, and if anyone would reccomend one over the other - from personal experiences? And for those that dont know what they are: Acura RSX Type-S Subaru WRX ...opinions? :helpme |
If you want to know what car is faster (stock vs stock) the WRX is. If you want to have luxury, comfort, looks, and some performance... Get the Type S.

Suuuuubbbbbbbbbaaaaarrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuu
Hands down |
I'd choose the acura just because it looks way better and more comfort in the car...
|
on the subaru site you can compare both cars. i'd say the wrx personally.
|
btw if the WRX STi was the option, get that hands down :thumbsup :thumbsup

I'm planning to add some after market parts to whatever car I get - anyone know which car would be cheaper, or faster in the long run, if I ended up doing this? |
Get the WRX STi :thumbsup Way cooler!
|
more rice.....YAY:glugglug
|
hands down, the rsx type-s.
|
interesting comparison , i would have to say the RSX Type S , simply cause I am Honda Fan , but as I recall the WRX is a bit cheaper and has a bit better performance in terms of handling and speed . :thumbsup

I own the 2002 RSX and I absolutely fucking love it. I never test drove the WRX but I know a friend who has it and he loves it too. Tough call for sure, but I would take the sportier look that the RSX has. One thing I love about the RSX is actually the trunk space. It's a sportscar but it has tons of room in the trunk and the 200 horses makes it very sweet!
In the 2 years I've had it, not one single problem, ever. I absolutely love it :) WG |

Either that or the new 2004 Lancer Evo from Mitsubishi which also is a kickass car http://www.autoweek.com/specials/200...action_015.jpg If you ask me the Acura is just a chromed up Honda |
btw...anyone know if theres any difference between the Honda NSX and the Acura NSX?
|
the type s doesnt see any power untill 7000 rpm. also 141 lbs-ft @ 4000 rpm :(
just get the awd wrx... |

Thats why the RSX is looking more and more appealing to me. They are luxurious cars, and 200hp is enough power that you can DEFINITELY have some fun with it if you choose to. Plus, being only 20, Im looking at paying either ~260 a month for the RSX, or $800+ (!!!) for some of the sports cars I had been looking at. Absolutely insanity. |
STI rocks:thumbsup
|
Since the STi is not an option for you go with the Acura! You can never go wrong with a Honda!
|
Just so you know the STI doesn't even come with a radio, it's anextra you have to pay. Not a daily driver at all.
I don't like the look of the Impreza but i can assure you it's better than that piece of shit slow ass ricer RSX |
RSX-S is a wonderful car. VTec kicks in at about 4400RPM if i remember correctly from my friends type-s. Its a quick car for a stock inline 4. He ran it at the track and pulled a 15.3
The WRX hands down will walk on the rsxS. Just because the simple fact that the wrx is a stock turbo awd car. If you want speed and something that isnt seen much, take the WRX, its a badass machine from the factory, low 14s from the factory and thats just the base model. if you have any other questions about imports just hit me a message on AIM and ill gladly help you out man. good luck |
WRX! Hands Down!
|
Whoever picks the Acura in here, is a girl...
Subaru WRX is a man's car. Ugly as hell, but its a beast in performance. That car is not meant to go buy groceries :1orglaugh |
WRX :thumbsup

Get an evo
|
Personally I wouldn't choose either but they're two totally different cars.
You've got a 225HP Turbo'd WRX and a 200HP Naturally aspirated RSX. Personally I'd go check out the 2004 Honda S2000, but the only downfall on that is it's a 2 seater. :( Why don't you go test drive them both and see how you like them for yourself. |
Subaru is a shitty FWD based "performance" car...
The Honda is a more completely engineered all-around car.... No doubt the WRX is quicker in a straight line and would be better suited to the average joe. The Honda is a drivers car more rewarding for someone that appreciates chassis balance, refinement and technology throughout. As the HKS tuners say: In Japan, we no give fuck for Subaru. |

The S2000 can out handle most cars if not almost all cars out there on the market. ...And the HKS full catback exhaust on the s2k sounds amazing, so deep and crisp. No ricey sound. :thumbsup |
Acura RSX Type-S looks better to me.
|
I'd go with the WRX. I test drove one and the handling/power are excellent. The RSX isn't even in the WRX' class.
|
I'm 100% addicted to RSX Type S :thumbsup
|
SUBARU!
|
if you think you will have luxury with the rsx type-s you are mistaken..
i wont weigh in on what car is better cuz each person has their own opinions... that and my view is biased being a wrx owner hehe wrx has been highly impressive, you cant go wrong with turbo and AWD :) |
|
Subaru for sure

an WRX is way more than a RSX Type-S. If it was my opinion i'd go with the WRX. 4wheel drive
|
What about the RSX Type-S vs the RX 8 ?
My buddies got the type S, I've got the RX8. But we're so far away, that we haven't had the chance to race yet. |
The M3 wins every time! go with the m3
