Tornado Warning for Sioux Falls South Dakota until 515 CDT

Nebraska....ouch, there's a few watches out there. This stuff is all heading for Tennessee, but will probably weaken by the time it gets here. Dammit. :(

I usually don't turn my stuff off in a storm because it's one of the ways I track the storms.

Actualy, no. It's rather Hollywoodish, as opposed to what really goes on out there.

Looking at the local radar there from the national weather service, it looks like you're getting most straight line winds. Lincoln looks free of anything major right now. :)

Tornado Warning for Twin Cities MN until 600 pm CDT

Wow. You don't get many tornado warnings in Minnesota.

Tala 04-18-2004 03:44 PM

Mojo, if you're near Laurel, get off the computer, find a safe place on the lowest level of your home or in a basement somewhere.

Tornado Warning for Cedar County, NE until 615 pm CDT.

I'm thinking about you, man. Be safe. :(

thanks... but it looks like it's moving NE out of the area

AMADude 04-18-2004 03:52 PM

I dont think we have tornadoes in Vegas but if I were you I would unplug your computers.

Holly 04-18-2004 03:53 PM

Kinda sad, but tornado warnings don't even phase most people in the Southeast/Gulf region, anymore. It happens so much, no one really gets too freaked out or worried. Our local weather team actually came up with a new term called "tornado emergency".

We get warnings so often and rarely see any real problems or damage, so now when they say "tornado emergency" that means there is actually one on the ground, tearing shit up somewhere. :1orglaugh

Wisconsin just got a new one.

Tala 04-18-2004 04:04 PM

Redwood and Brown counties in MN just got 'em too.

Gemini 04-18-2004 04:09 PM

When we have them, I just stick close to my Born in Xenia Ohio old man that survived a bad one before age 1 and several others before they moved from there... :winkwink:

Hmmm some day I'll have to hunt out the pics of the softball sized hail his sister took from his first tornado, with her lil B&W Brownie camera, and scan them. No funnel pics since they were under the upturned couch.

Tala 04-18-2004 04:13 PM

Coolies, Gemini.

One of these days, I'll move out of Tennessee and into tornado country. (yes, TN gets a lot of 'nados, but I want more, dammit)
