i know what you mean... here the mach 3 blades cost as much as the razor itself (and you get 2 free blades with the razor).

you can get the razor for free, they give it to you because they know they can make a killing selling the refills

B/c there's no competition...they own some patents on the razor so no other company can make generic versions of the blade

good question, for a 3 blade pack its like $6.00. best thing is to get them at cosco and buy in bulk.

It's the core of the product. The rest of the shaver is just a piece of metal/plastic. The actual shaver is the sharp blades.

If you're in the US, hit up Costco (haven't tried BJ's or Sam's Club though), it's the best deal you're going to find on them.

That's exactly why I didn't buy the female version "Venus". It's the same razor, but PINK. So they expect me to pay 2$ more for the blades every time. As it is, they are WAY too expensive, but they work soooo well. Arg!

Yeah I noticed that as well. It sucks. In one store here, its cheaper to buy a full new razor. You get 4 blades with it than it is to buy a pack of 5 blades!

dam thas 5 dollars a a blade... i dont feel so bad paying the 5.95 +tax now.

get a Braun electric razor

I used mach 3's for a long time, and always spent the money for the god damn refills. Finally I said fuck it, and went and bought a nice norelco electric razor. I had a electric razor once, when I was younger and I hated the fucking thing. It wouldn't cut shit so I stopped using it, but this new one actually shaves just as good as the mach 3, once your face gets used to it. I think the key is to buy a high end one, not some cheap piece of shit and you will be happy with it :)

This is razor companies way of marketting, cheap handles, expensive blades. They have been doing this for a long time.

They actually make the money on the refills instead of the handles.

Years and years ago i once filled out a form for them, leaving my address in there. They already shipped me a free Mach 3 AND a free Mach 3 Turbo handle (both with just one blade though). They expect me to try the "new sensation", and go spend $40 on extra blades, wich i usually do :(

Becuase it cost over 750 million dollars to develop them.

I did. But I'm fed up smashing the w i n d o w s for some glass. It worked out more expensive than buying new blades for my Mach 3 :)

The Schick Quatro blows the mach3 out the w.indow. I made the switch last week. What a fucking smooth shave.

I didn't like Shick cause their old blades sucked - they would get stuffed with hair very fast and would be hard to clean.
