Because I've been considering moving to New Zealand, I've been reading the national paper there online. I've got to say, I like politics in their country a lot better than the politicians we have to choose from here.

First, their Prime Minister (like the president) is a woman.
When will that finally happen in the USA? (Billary jokes aside)

Secondly, she is openly not religious!
"I describe myself as an agnostic."
... Do you think someone without religion could ever get elected here?

On top of that, neither is her main politcal rival (of the other major party).
"If you mean, 'Do I believe there is a supernatural being with whom I can talk', then no."
... OMG! a country where you don't have to kneel before the church to get elected!

And it gets better ..
They have an MP (like a member of congress) who is a
Maori transsexual and former sex-worker (prostitute),
who was voted into government by a largely white rural electorate.
...Fuck! can you imagine Alabama voting in a black tranny ex-hooker?

I live in Australia and sheep jokes aside i'd love to move to NZ.

I haven't had the pleasure of getting over to NZ (will do so soon though, hopefully), by everything I've heard from friends and family there it's a great place to live.

It's certainly more liberal than the US or Australia, so if the hollow echo of jackboots crushing people's souls against the PATRIOT act is one of those things that's making you consider emigrating you'll definately be more comfortable.
