i do design for a living and i dont really see a need to go for the 6x8... a 4x5 would do just fine for what i'd need it for. at the local frys electronic store here... the 4x5's are priced at 189.00. when i go get my new desktop this week, i plan on picking one of those up

for now, all i wanna do is make my logos more professional, but i wanna keep my touch to them. so i need to figure out what size would suit me.

later on, i may get into doing some detailed toon work, since i used to be into drawing comicbook characters, but now i wanna incorporate that into web applications

I got a wacom tablet when they first came out, and I just couldn't get used to the darn thing.. I finally went back to the mouse and scanning drawings. I know some people love them.. but it just wan't for me I guess

my problem is that i cant draw for shit with a mouse, and as for scanning, i'm ok with it.

but i wanna draw my stuff directly, so that i can save time.:)

i threw away my mouse and do everything with the pen..it's a great tool and has a much more natural feel to it then a mouse
(you just click by tapping the pen)

I have a graphire... works pretty well. I'm not really sure a bigger tablet is necessarily better... you have to hold the bugger after all :)

and it's cheaper.

I'm also using it instead of the mouse. Bye bye RSI!

Pretty much any wacom tablet will work fine, especially if your only doing logos and some cartooning. (if you want to see some fucking amazing digital painting check out this board. I got my tablet new for about $80. I'm thinking about getting a larger one sometime in the next year. In the end, its your own skill thats going to make the biggest difference, not the specific model or size. (as long as its a wacom.. I've never heard any artist say anything good about other brands)

i've been planning on buying one of those for weeks now. but i keep on forgetting it when i went to the mall.. :(

i do design but i'm not used to work with pen tablet coz i still do my drawings in freehand.. but i'll still going to buy those for coloring purposes. :winkwink:
