im sitting here having the idea of what i want so i was like fuck it i know basic photoshop and know my way around dreamweaver so i thought i could make a basic gallery

i had the image in my head but it doesnt come out right

anyone got any tips?

Ok mr Jupz

1st put the thumbs in there own cells
Dream weaver insert new table rows 1 collums 4 cell padding 5 border =1 width 572 to match your logo


Copy and paste the table once below the bottom row of thumbs
Move all the top thumbs into the top table
Move all the bottom thumbs into the bottom table

Upload and let me see it

did you set it to 572 pixels or 572%? Make sure it's 572 pixels...572 isn't that big of a table.

Turn the border of the table off and remove the inner shadow on the top text and your gallery will look much much cleaner

Getting there but I think he is right try the border turned off and its will look cleaner if you get rid of those 2 landscape thumbs and replace the images with portraits

Also might wanna try putting all the thumbs and logo etc in one big table that is pink then change the page back ground colour to white or some thing.


Try putting a border on just the big table.

Insert new table rows 1 collums 1 border 2
Then change the border colour on that table to some thing other than default grey

Chris, you're going to need more thumbs. I would shoot for 15-20 pictures per gallery, try to stay closer to 15. Looks like you're pushing a facials site, don't post the actual facial but lead up to it. Possibly add a link telling the surfer where he can find the facial.

A lot of people like using graphics on their galleries, which is fine, but you need to remember that search engines don't read graphics. Add a little text at the top and center of the page, telling the surfer what's going on and what he can expect at Amateur Facials. The search engines will pick up on this text as well and you may find yourself getting a little traffic from Google a month or two down the road.

I am a graphic designer myself, and I understand what you mean... Most of the work I was drawing in school was never as good as in my head...which makes you deppreciate your work, even if the others are impressed...you only feel disappointed...

The thing I learned from that is the more you know, like in Photoshop or Illustrator or matching colors or whatever, the better you will be able to reproduce the masterpiece you have in your head.

Just a stupid question I have about borders - how do you get a broken line border like - - - - - - - - - all around the image?

Here is a TIP. Pay a designer to do it :thumbsup

you should start make alot of designs for your self - use photoshop (dont use all filters available) and you will learn! :thumbsup

Add a "style" tag to your image, something like this:

Obviously...removing the . that I had to put in st.yle for it to show up.
