I hate to ask here but I am having no luck anywhere else (IE tech question)
I had a some piece of shit malware install on my computer yesterday that redirected me to best-search a coolweb type site everytime I clicked.
I downloaded HijackThis and proceded to delete everything in the registry that had best-search in it.(Stupid I know but but I was frustrated Now the only page I can go to in IE is the one that is set as the home page. To browse I have to copy and paste or hand type urls into the home page under tools and apply and hit the home button. Any way to fix this? I know that's an open ended question but there are some pretty smart people here. :) |
search for CWShredder on google this will get rid of it
|
hmm should've read the whole thing...CWShredder is what you should'Ve used in the first place to get rid of the CoolWeb shit....after that, not sure I undersdand your problem...you should still try to run CWShredder to make sure everything is removed
|
If u have XP you should be able to restore your system to a time before u fucked with the registry
Then use AdAware to get rid of it |
get a real web browser. Try firefox, you broke IE.

Ran shredder first then hijack this because I was still getting redircted to the page.
Everything is fine except I have somehow delted something and no matter what I click get sent to whatever the home page is set to. And restore is off... :( |
