How to make a career change from adult industry to non-adult one?

I think the most difficult time is that when interviewers of non-adult company ask you to show him/her a website you have taken care of. If I told them I worked in adult industry, I cannot image how their reaction will be.

What should I say when such question is asked?

thats a tough one..maybe create some non adult ones and direct all that stuff you did to that one :) dishonest, but people are prejudice easy

Definately do that. People make blanket assumptions all the time.

If everything you were doing is legit, you should have no problems.

You 2 are deluding yourselves. Most people in a mainstream industry would look askance at you if you showed them a porn domain as an example of your previous work history. All experience being equal, if its between a pornographer and some guy who worked at a bank, its the guy who worked at a bank every time. It may not be right, but its a fact of life and one you may have to deal with if you ever decide to leave the biz.

i'd say unless you are applying for a job at a hip place like the Howard Stern show or the E channel or MTV or something, just keep the porn stuff to yourself. most of america is totally conservative and puritanical. anything that has to do with sex is 'bad'. act like the person reading your application is the "church lady" from SNL....
