CBC looking for webmasters in the Vancouver Area

A guy called and said they were considering doing a story on what it's like in the porn industry.

If any of you want some free publicity, here's the guy's info:

jj lee
associate producer
cbcradio3.com
700 hamilton street
vancouver, bc, v6b 4a2
604 662 6083

[email protected]
[email protected]

I talked to him and he seems ok, he's not out to make a controversial story.

The story would be for their website, located at: http://cbcradio3.com/issues/2004_04_16/main.cfm

Has anyone else been called?

Publicity is publicity though..:)

StuartD 04-16-2004 06:39 PM

never called me :(

WarChild 04-16-2004 06:40 PM

No fucking thanks. I don't want to be the face, or voice for Porn in Vancouver ... Talk about painting cross hairs on yourself .. Fly under the radar .. don't light it up.

Huggles 04-16-2004 06:41 PM

Fuck that, I saw how those guys edited the statements a friend of mine gave for their street racing article.

I wouldn't touch it.

hershie 04-16-2004 06:41 PM

Yeah, I spoke with him. He mentioned he was specifically looking for "design firms and designers" in the Vancouver area involved with adult.

Jman 04-16-2004 06:43 PM

LMAO Let's take him out for a nice diner... JMan style :Graucho

hershie 04-16-2004 06:43 PM

He found me through the classified ad in www.vancouverporn.com that Maja runs. I didn't really speak with him for long and told him not to call again.

hehe then get compromising pictures of him in case he fucks around with some people's statements :Graucho

WarChild 04-16-2004 06:50 PM

I think it's important for webmasters to understand that the general population does not look favourably on pornographers.

I really doubt this guy is going to produce an article, praising porn and calling us saints. I would be really shy about being involved in the maintstream media.

There's many different ways to see it. Dugmor has appeared in Le Journal de Montreal many times, and I don't think it had any bad repercutions.

The guy wants to do a story about how people got started in the biz (mostly designers). He basically wants to know what made some people shift from mainstream to porn, etc.

I won't be in his story, but I thought I'd let the vancouver crowd know about it, in case some of them wants publicity and aren't affraid.

If the general population didn't look favorably at porn this wouldn't be the multi billion dollar industry it is. Porn is mainstream no matter what the religious right says, did your dad not have a couple mags hidden somewhere? The porn business isn't thousands of people who spend tens of thousands of dollars... hundreds of millions of people enjoy porn. Any mention of a porn URL in anything that people see will get you members, I don't care if it's in a church newsletter. :2 cents:

What's the average joe going to think when he sees an article about how evil porn is, that includes your url? "hmm, maybe porn is bad", or, "hmm, sexycollegeslutssuckingcock.com, sounds hot". 9/10 he's thinking the latter.

You're missing the point entirely. People like porn, but certainly don't respect pornographers. I find many people react negatively when they find out you sell porn. Many more than would if you were a waiter.

Men will fuck a prosititute, but they don't want their daughter to be one. Same sort of thing.

Vancouver is not Montreal.

Spunky 04-16-2004 07:06 PM

I had a guy from The Province call me awhile back...I don't need the added attention so I refused..

WarChild 04-16-2004 07:07 PM

And if you want more evidence .. Here's something very relevant:

Recently, in Richmond BC (A Suburb of Vancouver) .. Men were seen walking out of a house and down the street with computer monitors. The police stopped them, thinking they were robbing the house.

It turns out they were not .. but inside the house they were doing live streams .. Porn.

There was outrage in the Media. The community screamed "NOT IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD". The police treated these people like common criminals. Equipment was impounded, people even arrested.

The people in question has done NOTHING wrong. They were breaking no laws, by laws or otherwise. All the attention they got was negative.

If that isn't proof of how the general population, at least in the Vancouver area feels .. Then I don't know what is.

Makingcoin 04-16-2004 07:10 PM

I will pass.

WarChild 04-16-2004 07:10 PM

Further more .. When you pass through Canada Customs, by land or air .. In to BC .. Tell them next time you're a pornographer. See how they treat you.

Wilber 04-16-2004 07:33 PM

Here is your "associate producer"
http://www.hotsauceposse.com/biorolojj.htm

The pic is a mouse-over.

I wouldn't be talking to any satirist comic.

When I was going to Internext, and about to go through US Customs, I didn't think it would be a big deal to tell them why I was going to Vegas and within 45 seconds of being next in line to talk with the officer, Webgurl or FNP Jenefer convinced me I was a loonie to say that, so I tried to develop a new story for the guy that sounded convincing. It was actually quite stressfull.

I have spent hours, and hours and hours sitting in Canadian Customs. I am marked for being a pornographer, and get to spend time with those fine people nearly every trip!

I imagine, since I have yet to be subjected to social consternation for my profession, that I let my guard down not realizing how stigmaized pornography really is. Thankfully Webgurl and Jenefer were there at that time.

I don't even bother getting angry about it anymore. I know better than the carry anything illegal across the boarder. And since I don't deal in anything illegal PERIOD .. I have NOTHING to worry about.

I just think to myself "I've got all day .. While I'm sitting here, I'm making more money then all these guys put together" .. and it allows me to sit there and grin.

Only helped make it me more of respected .

That was the Korean live sex site porno365.net which used to be known as live69tv.com. It was being run in a suburban neighbourhood and was pretty well run out of town.

IMHO anyone who talks to the press is nuts, like someone mentions above it's not Montreal.
