ADULT?S TOP STAR JENNA JAMESON STARTS FUND TO HELP PERFORMERS HIT BY HIV SCARE

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA ? (April 16, 2004) ? Leading adult actress Jenna Jameson and her husband, producer Jay Grdina, have launched the Adult Industry Assistance Fund to help out performers idled by the HIV scare that has shut down much of the adult industry.

Jameson and Grdina and their company, ClubJenna, Inc. are also hoping that other production companies will contribute to AIAF. Further information is available at www.adultfund.com Contributions by check may be sent to AIAF c/o ClubJenna, Inc., 8390 East Via de Ventura, Suite S-110 # 258, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

?Jenna and I have made a substantial contribution to launch this fund, which will provide some bridge cash to actresses and actors who have been thrown out of work because of the precautionary measures nearly everyone is taking,? said Grdina, who is also known by his professional name, Justin Sterling.

?We will work with other industry leaders to set up criteria for distributing the money we raise, but essentially it will go to people who are in dire financial straits because they have been quarantined themselves, or have lost their jobs because productions they were working on have been shut down. Lots of people in our industry live from paycheck to paycheck, and it is only fair for us to try to help out,? he said.

After two XXX performers tested positive for HIV this week, the adult industry has largely shut down active filming, following a request from the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) for a 60-day moratorium.

On Thursday Ms. Jameson issued a call for tighter self-regulation of the XXX movie industry in order to head off the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases among adult performers. She issued a statement saying: ?The fact is that the adult industry as a whole has been remarkably free of STDs and HIV, considering that sex is what we do for a living. We must do even more to prevent it from taking root among performers. The incidence of HIV in the adult industry is far lower than in the population as a whole, and we need to adopt stricter restrictions for our industry to keep it that way. I think that any performer coming into the United States from abroad, including American nationals who have worked outside the country, should have a ?quarantine? period in which they must wait at least 60 days before beginning work again in the adult industry.?

Jenna has always amazed me, but now it is in ways that I had never imagined.

She's taking the lead, and seems to be the industry's most public spokes person..

A great one at that.

Nice going.

Real Nice.

Is this going to be a non-profit or industry group (like the Free Speech Coalition) where companies can w r i t e off donations? That would probably help get a lot more money in.

I just got a second email from them about a minute ago:

Correction in "Jenna Jameson Launches Adult Performer Assistance Fund"

Note: The correct address for contributions is:

AIAF c/o ClubJenna, Inc., 8390 East Via de Ventura, Suite F-110 - 258, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. (Suite F rather than S)
