How to Create a Rich Country -- 1 2 3 easy steps

A 'friend' of mine lives in a fucked up ass backwards economically retarded country run by complete idiots. However, this country is full of SMART, Hardworking, Intelligent, family-centered, honest people.

Unfortunately, not all can emigrate so many have to stay behind and put up with the shitty existence that a fucked up economy brings.

My 'friend' asked me for my advice. So here's my advice (sharing it with the GFY community)

What the country needs is a LIBERTARIAN ECONOMY and GOVERNMENTAL POLICY

1) Limit government to 3 basic tasks:

Protecting its citizens -- through competent and well paid police force and military

Protect its citizens from each other -- through a competent / noncorrupt court system. Crack down on cabals/trusts/monopolies(that are artificial not market created)

Protect its citizens from the government -- regular audits / anticorruption stings/mandatory death sentence/long prison terms. Set minimal standards for privatized infrastructure.

2) PRIVATIZE everything

You want to use a road. Pay a fee. Too much traffic on one road. Use another company's road.

3) NO miminum wages

This will maximize jobs and minimize inflation.

4) NO unions

Unions are spawns of the devil and a fucked up way to reward the lazy man for pumping out babies and being a fucking a parasite.

5) LET THE MARKET DECIDE

Laissez Faire. No government intervention. No subsidies. No handouts. NO TAXES. No barriers to foreign investment and capital.

Adam Smith: No countries are alike. Some countries excel in certain things. Other countries in other ventures. All countries should focus on what they excel in and trade for their wants.

THIS IS THE WAY TO SUCCESS.

Now, let's get to work...

You're quite clever if you wrote that by yourself :winkwink:

Most if not all things are probably true, but it will NEVER happen in any country.
Not everyone shares the believe that each human being is free and should take care for himself.
In most countries, the majority believes in "social solidarity". :)

In all seriousness... there's a reason why the Soviet Union failed.

And SOCIAL SOLIDARITY bullshit is the reason.

Unions WERE necessary historically, and I feel without them, the need for a Union would arise again within a few years.

I TOTALLY agree Unions are a double edged sword (Protecting the lazy, etc.), however given the alternative I feel they are still absolutely necessary.

Unions are not necessary. People can always vote with their feet.

The market is FREE. Don't like working somewhere. Get off your ass and go somewhere else.

Don't like working for the man. Find a demand, fill the demand and be your own boss.

If they are not necessary, why were they formed initially?

Would removing all unions not take us back to that point?

Because conditions (political and cultural) existed back then that don't exist now.

Back then Rockefeller can organize his Pinkerton Detectives to kill off dozens of striking underpaid mineworkers.

Nowadays, due to the shift in economy from manual labor, Rockefeller better pay damn good money or he'd have to work his mines his damn self.
