I need some advice
I have a site on with domain name "A"...and it has a pr rating with google...and recieves "X" amount of traffic.
I have a new domain name "B" for the site. Question if I leave an index page on domain "A" that is identical to domain "B" except that all internal links will lead to domain name "B" will this hurt me with google and/or other search engines. Would it just be best...as regards the search engines...to leave a 404 on domain name "A" to redirect the traffic to domain name "B". |
Identical pages get "punished" from Google in theory. So you can just put your server to redirect the domain A to B.
Or, you can put a redirect saying "This site has moved, if you're not redirected automatically, click here to visit blah-blah site B." Make the " click here to visit blah-blah site B" a link to your site. Hopefully Google will update his index soon. |
