Do a search on the board for "camel spider" and you'd be amazed how many times this has been posted before.

Plus, some of those threads have very interesting info about them.

Camel spider...not really that big though (just the way the pic was taken). They are also harmless to humans.

In Costa Rica .. we had some nasty spiders. Tarantullas .. But they're not the worst.

I don't know what they're called .. But there's a spider that's pure black .. It's body is about the size of quarter .. It's legs are short, and thick... The only color on the entire spider is a giant set of red fangs. The face, and especially the fangs look out of proportion to the body. These things can jump a good 3 or 4 in the air, and move VERY fast .. I've been "charged" by them. Nasty fuckers.

You shouldn't be able to see a spider's FACE, and make it out clearly .. Or at least if you can, it shouldn't look MEAN :ak47:

In reality, camel spiders aren't some mysterious Arabian creature -- we have them in the United States and in Mexico, where they are called matevenados. They are slightly smaller than the human hand, and while they do run quickly, their top speed is 10 miles per hour, not 25. But they also make no noise, they excrete no venom, and although they can be voracious nocturnal predators, they don't eat camels. They eat delicious crickets and pillbugs, and sometimes scorpions.
