Latest AIDS epidemic going to raise the bar for testing?

Does this mean that talent is going to need more current testing?

How else do you combat this? What do you require of talent to avoid this sort of thing now, and in the future?

How often are they required to test? Isn't it once a month or something?

And a condom isn't a 100% guarantee against getting AIDS, much less many of the other STD's.

condoms of course arent 100% but added together with regular testing can decrease the chances even better.

I think people that travel outside a few select countries will have to undergo a three month quarantine upon their return.

I would not hire someone who worked in Brazil, until they tested clean after three months.

yes - and especially for performers that go overseas... .that will be the primary change.

overseas test results - i am just guessing here - but i am sure that in brazil - where he got the HIV - i am sure i could find a doc that would give a clean record for some extra cash.. .

one of those things where they go nuts now for a year..then they forget

SykkBoy 04-15-2004 07:20 PM

I hope it does. Content providers/producres, etc. need to take better care of their workers. They need to ensure tests are up to date and have NO LENIENCY whatsoever.

If I open a restaurant and don't take proper safety precautions, I would get fined, shutdown and possibly prosecuted, so it should be no different whether you hire the employee/contractor to take a bukkake, give a bukkake, fix your roof, wash your dishes or cook your food.

It wouldn't bother me to have weekly testing instead of monthly. I realize this is a greater expense, but production companies should pick up the tab on this.

i wonder what company will come out with the instant HIV test....

Kinda like a diabetes test, prick yourself, and get an instant result....

hmm

Doctor Dre 04-15-2004 07:23 PM

I don't think the testing can get much better then that . It takes a while for the virus to test positive anyways . I guess ppl that go in another country will be quarantined or something

Have them tested regularly and practice safe sex. I agree with wearing condoms.

I am now a CONDOM ONLY GIRL and there are many others that feel the same way I do. Condoms are the way to go along with PCR-DNA testing.:helpme

The porn industry should be required to test at least as often as the brothels do.

I couldn't agree more. This puts the pressure on the producers to enforce these rules instead of "good faith" stuff by the performers. I'm all for it.

I'm testing every week now for 2 months just to be sure. Then I'm adopting a new policy - every 2 weeks for me... and since I shoot first timers mostly - always a fresh test for her. And, of course... condoms only. Call me paranoid, but alive.

Digipimp 04-18-2004 11:24 AM

You could test every 3 days and it wouldn't fucking matter as long as these dumbasses are willing to do double anal. Anal sex increases your risk of getting HIV by at least 3 to 4 times over regular sex.

mardigras 04-18-2004 11:31 AM

A test gives fake BS security feeling and is worthless unless all participants are monitored 24/7 for many months after testing and retested before having sex and never allowed to have sex with anyone else outside the approved industry EVER. Impossible.

A positive result for HIV anti-bodies can take up to 3-6 months to show up in some people. Any person working with a clean test today could be in the win</>dow before the anti-bodies show up.

DreamCumTrue 04-18-2004 11:32 AM

Hopefully more people will use condoms!

Yeah, I don't think people are going to lose any sales at all if ALL porn had condoms.

If only a few start using condoms, then yeah... people might opt to watch the ones without instead....

but if ALL porn had condoms, people would just accept it and keep watching.

Digipimp 04-18-2004 11:49 AM

like it or not all of porn will never all be using condoms unless the government legislates it. you're selling a fantasy to people that's why they watch porn, when you dream about fucking this hot chick and choking her do you dream you're wearing a condom?

they'll only all go that way if the government legislates it and even then there will still be people doing it without just for the money.

More frequent testing wouldn't help much. The current 30 day periods are only 50% accurate, shorter periods would be even less accurate. Giving performers a false sense of security is not the answer.

As long as sex is involved, a risk is involved. The real question is what risk is acceptable?

I think I understand what you're trying to say here, but could you have stated it in a less confusing manner?? :)
