Is Time Travel or Molecular Transfer Possible?

Philidephia Experiment was about Molecular Transfer and half the crew ended up forged into the ship's structure.

Scientists say that if you spin a cylinder at extreme speeds it creates "cones" that allows for time travel.

Opinons? Discuss.

It's true.

Yes, anything is possible.

Doctor Dre 04-14-2004 11:01 PM

I think you can get in the future by going to a really high speed but I don't think it's possible to go in the past

Anyone remember this show from the '60's?

The Time Tunnel !

:thumbsup

I don't know what to believe anymore.

Wow... that is some seriously freaky stuff to read. Of course your initial response is that it's complete and total bullshit, but when you read on you start to loosen up the skepticism a bit.

I would love to see the movie they just made about the story: http://www.strategicbrains.com/johntitor/Cyburbia.cfm

The Time Tunnel was a groovy show and Lee Meriwether was hot as usual. I wonder if they have the series out on DVD yet...

"Two American scientists are lost in the swirling maze of past and future ages, during the first experiments on America's greatest and most secret project, the Time Tunnel. Tony Newman and Doug Phillips now tumble helplessly toward a new fantastic adventure, somewhere along the infinite corridors of time."

Anyway...yes, time travel is possible but the key is dreams...

Yes, I belive its possible. I belive we will unlock the secrets of time travel when we have a greater knowlege and understanding of worm holes and black holes.

Absolutely true.

Nasa has been doing tests on time distortion and they are making progress.

Einstien even had theories relating to time travel and its affiliation with gravity.

that is correct. the faster you go, the more time slows down. so if someone traveled at a very high rate of speed and made a round trip back to earth, they would come back to an earth in the future. basically if they left for a year, the time spent traveling that equaled a year to the traveler wouldnt equal a year back on earth....it could be several years back on earth equated to a year of travel in space. this is all assuming a very high rate of speed.

also, if you travel towards a black hole, as you get closer and closer towards the center, time slows down. so if you could somehow manage to circle a black hole for a long time and then come back to earth, you yourself would be from the past.

also, there was an experiment done last year or the year before where scientists where able to prove molecular transfer was possible. they took a particle in one container and made it appear in another container. beam me up scottie :)

i think that was done wita photon, not a molecule

you could be correct. i cant quite remember.

KRL - the time tunnel! i loved that show when i was a kid - the great grandfather to quantum leap and others.

i read an article in popular science last year. it was a proton, and they threw it at a wall, very fast. and it did prove time travel, which really took everything i believed and made it garbage. of course, so did invalidating carbon 14 dating, but what can ya do?

riosluts 04-15-2004 10:18 PM

umm did you see that movie Time Line. thats how they travels thru time. they broke themselves down to the molecular level. Maybe possible but very very hard to do probably

tbabe 04-15-2004 10:20 PM

Does the past even exist?

RK 04-15-2004 10:24 PM

Yes, it has been done with a photon, so far.
