Great idea!
It's done like this:
You have small flash movie in upper left corner. On click sets another flash ad to visible. Ad is a transparent flash placed above the rest of the site. That is why the links will not wwork untill ad is hidden.
It is done with a litle client scripting and it is not difficult to do at all. But idea is great!

BTW, transparent flash works only in IE.

it's techy and cool yeah.. but I think this is the type of thing only webmasters like for their own sites.. I'm imagining myself as a surfer to that site, and it would irritate me to be honest
