nah... the article is outdated. search around and you'll see other articles denying that.

they were taking in to consideration the entire worth of ikea, which isn't part of his fortune.

chowda 04-13-2004 11:25 PM

Steve 04-13-2004 11:27 PM

not really my style
but whatever floats your boat, you know?

skinnay 04-13-2004 11:31 PM

you know you have an ikea problem when you know all their furniture by name :) not that i have that problem or anything.... because i dont... but ikea is the shit. the only think i dont like is the food, the swedish meatballs are a little overpriced.

Babel 04-13-2004 11:33 PM

I dont really like putting stuff togheter myself

riosluts 04-13-2004 11:34 PM

Thats why you go durning the week during the day :2 cents:

Doctor Dre 04-13-2004 11:35 PM

They have nice stuff but a lot of cheap shit too . their plans are awlays well made tough

hottoddy 04-13-2004 11:51 PM

Most of it is overpriced pressboard crap. However, I do have the Jerker and Goliat in my office right now ...:winkwink:

marcu5 04-13-2004 11:54 PM

i junked all my old stuff out and spent a grand at Ikea. It changed my room's entire vibe. It's true they do turn houses into homes

Vitasoy 04-13-2004 11:59 PM

I bought most of my tables/drawers from Ikea. Well priced, designs are nice, and very easy to build.

Mutt 04-14-2004 12:01 AM

IKEA is a good solution when you are setting up your first apartment/house and you can't spend a fortune on furniture and u want it to look decent.

it looks good but as somehahahaha said above, it's pretty crappy furniture, particle board, laminates, foam fillings - the IKEA guy didn't get to be the richest guy in the world for nothing.

agreed. thats what all their shit is.

jhauser 04-14-2004 05:43 AM

I love their accessories like rugs, vases, table coverings. Not really into the furniture much but their frames, shelves and storage ideas are excellent.

hova 04-14-2004 05:45 AM

I used to buy a lot of shit there, but that was because it was ok looking and cheap and I was having a shitload of parties at my place and I had to refurnish my place every two weeks.

Now I don't get there anymore, but their shit is still ok

TheFrog 04-14-2004 05:46 AM

Ikea has some good shit

Firehorse 04-14-2004 05:47 AM

About 18 years ago I bought my first house and went Ikae crazy, I spent $6k on Ikea shit. I loved the stuff! :1orglaugh

benc 04-14-2004 05:49 AM

maybe I would buy stuff online from there , if possible, but I would never go to the store again. I don't like being trapped in a labrynith.

My first thought exactly!

GTS Mark 04-14-2004 06:02 AM

Honestly I used to love Ikea, however after I moved back from Vancouver I noticed a lot of my stuff starting to fall apart as when it was reassembled it lost a lot of the structural integrity.

I still have some ikea furniture but when I take possession of my new house I think I will be furnishing alot of it from Sears and other decent furniture stores.

I prefer comfort and reliability now over style :winkwink:
