What are some of the reasons good gothic content is so rare ? This goes for both video and images. Amelia does a great job shooting it, but I'm talking about all the content providers. People you can actually license content from. The niche continues to grow fast, but there's a big lack of decent content for it. I think maybe it's because it lacks definition for a lot of photographers. They don't know what to shoot. Too much risk for them, that they may not shoot it right and not be able to sell it ? Or is there not enough of a demand for it even though there are threads practically every week looking for it ?

IMHO, very generally speaking, "goth" girls usually possess above average intelligence, and come from higher income families. They are better educated and less likely to need to turn to porn to support themselves. If they do have an interest in modeling, they see a clear distinction between 'artistic' nudes and 'porn'. Even then, the photographer/site needs to have the sort of credibility that makes it "cool" to be involved. It is more likely they'd just start their own site, more for attention than money.

Of course, there are always those with out-of-control drug habits to support. For that type, try North Hollywood.

There is certainly something intriguing about the goth girls. I believe that if you did get better looking models that the genre would take off.

It's the same with all weird niche and fetish markets. You shoot normal stuff you sell it 20 times, you shoot fetish you sell it 5 times. Numbers are to illustrate a point, not specific.

So you ask the guy with the niche site for 4 times the money and he cries he cannot afford it.

Plus take into consideration the extra expense shooting the fetish content.

hmmm, 7 years ago you would've been right. Nowadays, "gothic" is just a mainstream subculture appealing to all different "social levels".

Besides, "goth" as discused here is totally about looks. Some 2nd hand clothes, fake piercings and make up make any model a goth within a minute.


On topic, I know nothing bout content but I believe one of the, what I think, best goth sites : suicidegirls.com was not really started as a pornbizz but more as a community. I think therefor there might be a lot undiscovered talent hanging around there not working for any agency and stuff.

One problem is content photographers don't understand how to shoot it right.

It's easy to shoot a blonde 18 year old, hell ANYONE can shoot that, but it takes some skill to properly shoot goth, fetish, etc.

Obviously ForrestBlack and I shoot most of our content, but I license pretty much every set which comes available for license which I feel fits. And it ain't much. I wish more people would shoot latex and rubber content of pretty girls which I could license for Blue Blood's Rubber Dollies.
