Should AVN have released the info on the HIV positive performer ???
or NOT ?? Think about it for a minute before you answer. Some lifes could be saved by the public knowledge getting out fast enough. I feel they have done the responsible thing :thumbsup

i dont feel sorry for anyone who plays with snakes and cries when they get bit,. |
well obviously someone released it before avn published it so why not publish it? If they didnt hear it from there, woulda been elsewhere

JFK - if they did not relaease at least a quarantine list then they would not be responsible to the rest of the performers in the industry ... it so happens that i know 2 of the people and it is a ripple effect in suck a small industry ... and it really is a good thing that they let other performers know what is going on with that .. as well as the performers agree to let the information released if there is an issue when they go in and get a test ..

as pointed out already, once you sign this crap, in the event of an outbreak your name will be rleased along with who you work with or whatever... :thumbsup |
He's a celebrity (minor) so it's news. If Tom Hanks had aids it would be on every magazine cover and on every channel.
|
Definitly without any doubt ... AIM are doing a good job too
|
Absolutely, yes they should have.
|
I think it's a good thing. I mean those other performers can be tested now. And maybe they fucked some others etc etc.
But it's still a lil scary Andre |
I think its a good thing.
I made a few calls today to make sure things were kool with some friends... |

yes

If the performers agree to having their names released when they work with AIM, then I can't find a single thing wrong with what's going on.

Yes, of course they should have...
When everyone health is at risk, this is an info that must get out ASAP :2 cents: |
they have to make it public and get the word out, it's not the most organized biz in the world in the first place, shoots could have been scheduled for today with any of those girls, try calling a porn girl - very hard to reach them. Going public is necessary and that's why there is the waiver at AIM about it.
this is a really shitty situation - hopefully none of these 6 girls tests positive but if they do, then you have all the people they worked with after their encounter with Darren James, then all the people who worked with those peope - not to mention non-industry sex - this could be a small contained outbreak or ..... and you know that Ashcr0ft and his war on porn is going to use this to further demonize the porn industry. our only shoot today had to be cancelled and i hear pretty much all shoots were today - tomorrow i dunno. |
Essentially by working with AIM, a performer is counting on them to vouch for their negative status. No one can expect AIM not to retract that 'vouch' when the status changes.
They can't have one way & not the other, particularly when people's lives & livlihoods are at stake. |
AIM and AVN did the totally right thing... Imagine what could happen if they did not release the info.. It sucks if you are the performer singled out but that is the risk going in. Every0ne else in the industry needs to get the information as soon as they can. As stated previously this is not the most organized industry there is anyway and there are ALOT of people doing it on a large and very small scale.
