I prefer the m3 better....
I don't like SUV's but if I'd have to drive one I would drive the porsche cayenne.

Za Ha 04-12-2004 09:03 PM

MUCH better then the cadillac idea.

Magnus 04-12-2004 09:04 PM

So happy you did'nt get that boxy Mercedes.

quiet 04-12-2004 09:04 PM

i can't stand big suv's, but if a gun was held to my head, i certainly like the looks of the bmw, as well as the cayenne.

for my winter vehicle, i'm getting rid of my MB 320 4matic, and getting a cheap, practical and realiable new CRV or something similar for the winter.

anyway, congrats :)

Za Ha 04-12-2004 09:04 PM

what bout the caynne V6, thats bout the same price and much nicer.

Illicit 04-12-2004 09:05 PM

My buddy has one, always something breaking...

but they look sweet :thumbsup

yeah, i've heard reliability is very poor on them. but in general, that goes for most vehicles coming out of Germany...

JayJay 04-12-2004 09:12 PM

Welldone Mark :thumbsup
I love the X5

How much is that baby setting you back?

How can you even stand the interior of that car? It feels cheap anyway you look at it.

NBDesign 04-12-2004 09:15 PM

Nice... but can you lift it? :winkwink: Maybe 6" and some 36" tires....

yeah ive never liked bmw interiors much, i dont understand why people hype them to be so great

anyway good choice and good luck with the x5... the benz ml class is garbage... my cousin has a friend who has a towing companty and the local dealership is giving him tons of business picking up ml classes and other benzes... im not sure what other models but apparently mercedes is having issues with some of their newer offerings

who cares? as a winter vehicle/beater, i don't want anything remotely flashy. just something that works, and works well. i want to be able to park the thing at the head of a hiking trail, leave it there for a couple of days, and not have to worry about it. and the MB wasn't exactly realiable.

i've got my 911 C4S for summer driving.

Ic3m4nZ 04-12-2004 09:22 PM

The inside / outside is looking good :thumbsup

Babel 04-12-2004 09:33 PM

For the same price, a class 3 BMW with M package makes a good town car to drive around in winter and it dont look cheap inside like the MB. When I tried one at SilverStar I just could not beleive how low MB whent to get a car out the door in the 40k market.

Exactly, I know you had a porsche, thats why it suprised me you also drove a 4matic

hehe, i think you mis-read one of my posts above. i said i'm getting rid of the MB, for a CRV (a honda) or some other small Japanese suv. overall, i was not satisfied with the MB, and would not buy another one ;)

i would never get an M3 for the winter. i live in the mountains and require 4 wheel drive.

Babel 04-12-2004 09:58 PM

The "M Package" is mostly cosmetics, very popular on the class 3 series, it's like this instead of the regular tires and interior ...

Includes: Sport Seats, M Multi-Function Leather Sport Steering Wheel, M Aerodynamic Package, Includes M footrest and M door entry sill., High-Gloss Shadow Line, Black Alu Cube Trim, Anthracite Roof Liner, 17'' M Parallel Spoke Alloy Wheels - 68 M, Includes 7.5J'' x 17'' front wheels and 8.5J'' x 17'' rear wheels. Includes M footrest, M door entry sill and short shifter.

pradaboy 04-12-2004 10:30 PM

looks like a great car... I really like the X5 :thumbsup

nice :thumbsup

SleazyDream 04-12-2004 10:41 PM

looks nice

GoGoBar 04-12-2004 10:44 PM

The guy is looking at SUVs. Why would you recommend a 3series/M3? If someone needs a ladder do you bring them a screwdriver?

Anyway, I had an X5. Loved it. Traded it in for a Range Rover, love it even more. The X3/SRX aren't even in the same class IMO as the X5. The ML500 looks like a minivan and the Porsche is a station wagon no matter what anyone says.

Take a peek at the Range Rover if you can swing it. It's a step above even the X5. And gives you a great deal more exclusivity.

instead of a crv, why dont you get a wrx sti or an evo? They do great in the snow! :thumbsup

adamneve 04-12-2004 11:40 PM

very nice :thumbsup

I don't like SUVs very much, but I drive a BMW 5-series and it's one of the best cars I've ever had. BMW is the way to go.

Jman 04-12-2004 11:43 PM

NOICE...

hova 04-13-2004 01:44 AM

Fucking nice car!

baycouples 04-13-2004 01:46 AM

German cars in general have very poor service. I own a BMW and the service has been horrible. If that doesn't bother you - then it's a good car. I would recommend Lexus though.

Mr Pheer 04-13-2004 01:50 AM

waste of money, buy a chevy tahoe if you just have to buy a new SUV

Jay_StandAhead 04-13-2004 01:52 AM

Excellent choice DH! :thumbsup

Manowar 04-13-2004 01:54 AM

nice new suv DH, looks like a good drive

DarkJedi 04-13-2004 01:59 AM

X5's are awesome :thumbsup
