Air Marshal Leaves Gun in Airport Restroom:BangBang:

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A federal air marshal accidentally left her gun in a restroom beyond the security checkpoints at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, officials say.

The weapon was discovered by a passenger who alerted an airline employee.

The marshal remained on the job after Thursday's incident when she visited an airport restroom and inadvertently left her gun behind, Dave Adams, spokesman for the Federal Air Marshal Service in Washington, said Saturday.

The restroom was beyond security checkpoints, airport spokeswoman Pat Smith said. So the risk was that someone could have discovered the gun and taken it on a flight.

"Right now we're still doing the investigation," Adams said. "It will determine what disciplinary action will be appropriate."

He declined to identify the marshal for security reasons, but said her work in the past had been "outstanding."

The United States deploys armed air marshals disguised as passengers on thousands of flights each week as part of security measures implemented after the Sept. 11, 2001, hijacked airliner attacks that killed about 3,000 people.

Smith said the incident occurred about 4 p.m. on Thursday when the air marshal went to the restroom. While washing her hands, she placed her gun on a shelf, but forgot to take it with her when she left the room.

Soon afterward, a passenger found the gun and informed an airline employee, who removed it and told police. The gun later was returned to the marshal.

So an undercover Air Marshal pulled her gun out in a public restroom where it could have been seen by anyhahahaha who was there which would have either freaked that person out or blown the Marshal's cover.

amen. when i'm in public the only reason my gun leaves it's holster is if i need to defend myself. when i got take a piss i don't set the fucking thing out jesus christ that's just plain irrespoisible. this is someone who does not properly respect firearms, this air marshall is.

In the last 6 months over a dozen cases of lost guns by police and the such have been reported here in florida ... the last one being a police officer doing a presentation at an ELEMENTARY school ... a 12 year old kid found it on the floor in the auditorium and turned it in ... WTF ....

Cop shooting the apprehended suspect is so scary. You can see her
white-knuckling the automatic.

I was almost shot at the shooting range. This was an indoor club and
some boob guy was teaching his hump-sack how to shoot his Glock 17.

I was bending down pickin' up my brass (still in my booth) and the
bitch steps back out of the booth with Glock 17 in hand and she was
trying to get the clip out or something and she squeezed one off.

The round hits the carpeted floor right in front of me and all the cement
and carpet shrapnel flies up into my face n' glasses. I had my mouth
slightly open and was spittin' out cement for the next ½ hour.
Both were banned.

Same club, another time, couple of booths down an off duty prison guard
female...about every third time she lowered to look at her hits she squeezed
off a round directly in front of her. The rounds were hitting the floor about
3-4 feet directly in front of her. It was almost a simultaneous scream from
all the shooters on that range..."GET YOUR FUCKING FINGER OFF THE
TRIGGER BITCH". She packed up and left.

Those are some whacked stories!

Live and learn. Both those incidences were on the weekend. I have
new rules for shooting AND flying...NEVER go on the weekend, all
the amateurs are out and that's your best chance of someone else
getting you killed.

I was almost T-boned doing a cross-over by some ass on downwind.
Tower says "do a cross-over your #6 behind a twin" and another guy
who gets #7 is on downwind is doing like 300 knots. I had to jam the
stick down and drop to about 800 feet to go under him. The radio
chatter after was hilarious.

Hmmm.. well Im not going to say I agree nor disagree... I can give reasons for both sides... why we shouldnt or should have guns...
