US mission to Mars is it a fraud?

Hit me with conspiracy theories.

I heard plenty about the US not going to the moon; just wondering if there are any claims about the Mars mission.

synergysex 04-12-2004 12:23 AM

Maybe not a fraud, but sure as hell a misuse of taxpayer money. NASA as an entire agency is a textbook example of a misuse of taxpayer money.

I agree with you on this.

I think it would make more sence to try and deal with global warming and etc rather than spending tax payer dollars trying to find life in another planet.

And we should have told Christopher Columbus to stay at home.

forget the alamo?

brickbat 04-12-2004 01:00 AM

I think there's unarguably more deserving causes, but then I also think 'fuck it going to Mars would be COOL.'

I'll admit that's a socially irresponsible opinion, but I don't think I'm alone in holding it.

Webby 04-12-2004 01:11 AM

I doubt anyone will be going to Mars too soon - what Bush spews out in an effort to show he's doing something means it will be the complete reverse - that cat has not changed it's spots.

Space exploration is not an appropriate role for a democratic government. Neither is Social Security, Welfare, Food Stamps, Public Housing, Grants, Handouts, Public Tution, Medicare, Medicaid or any of the other misappropriations. If you want socialism, move your ass to Canada.

If space exploration is such a great idea and something that must be done, then there should be no problem finding private investors to fund it.

NASA is an unconsitutional agency that exists for no other purpose than to burn through tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer money for no legitimiate purpose.

They built a website about it, so that makes it not a waste of money and constitutional?

Florida once received a $500,000 federal grant from the US Department of Justice. They spent $50K of it to fund a study to find out why prisoners wanted to break out of prison. To any sane and reasonable person, that qualifies as a huge waste of fucking money.

So you are telling me that if they built a website about the study, that would have some how changed something?

AnalProbe 04-12-2004 01:38 AM

NASA is, together with the Federal Reserve, the biggest Money Laundering organization in the world.

Di you know the Federal Reserve is incorporated in Switzerland ?

Do a search. You'll be surprised.

You are still a fool.
did you even bother looking into the site? the exploration of space has brought about numerous technological advances in our everyday lives.
now go heat up your tv dinner fool and thank NASA you can eat tonight.

BigFrog 04-12-2004 01:44 AM

oh, and that whole 'unconstitutional' thing cracks me up. maybe you should read the constitution one of these days.....

Mars fraud turned taxation argument.

Thread Score: 4/10

synergysex 04-12-2004 01:50 AM

It doesn't matter what good things have come out of NASA. And I am not debating that... NASA has developed alot of stuff. What I am debating is their right to spend tax dollars to do it with. Alot of people can eat because of food stamps. Plenty of people dont have to work because of welfare. All good things - for the people that benefit from it anyway.

That still doesn't change the fact that it is not an appropriate role for democratic government to take. Why should 50% of my check be taken from me so that six people can fly to the moon on a flaming rocket? Real simple: it shouldn't.

Nice call. Another classic GFY thread, everyone arguing about something they don't really know much about, ultimately resulting everyone insulting each other. You've got to love it.:winkwink:

That's because your brain isn't geared to see that Christopher Columbus is an
metaphor for discovery. Don't fret though, not everyone can be a thinker.

Here's how ithe rest of it goes.

- The present Mars mission is real
- Christopher Columbuses and space exploration advance mankind
- Taxes are how we pay for everything from printing your precious food stamps
to putting fuel in the "flaming rocket" vehicles
- Oswald did not act alone
- Saddam was a bad man
- The constitution is here http://www.house.gov/Constitution/Constitution.html
and there is nothing on there about jalapeno peppers or the US can't fund space
exploration
- Jesus Christ (the real one) was just a man, smarter than the average bear but
still just a man
- Jesus Christ (the GFY member) has the scariest gif anim...something about the
facial expression on that Dino from hell thing.

synergysex 04-12-2004 02:23 AM

Well here, how is this:

If you think space exploration is such a great thing, then why dont YOU get your checkbook out right now and make a sizeable donation to NASA? Better yet, why dont you and all of the others who share your view, put your money into a pool and pay for NASA's operations in full, reliving the taxpayers of such a burden. Why should I have to pay for it just because you think its a good idea? If you aren't willing to put your money where your mouth is, then you shouldn't be talking.

And, you ought to study Christopher Columbus a little closer before you prop him up. By all accounts, he was an incredibly cruel tyrant who enjoyed abusing people to accomplish his own agenda. Hey, now that reminds me of somehahahaha we have in the oval office right now... I wonder if they are related?

We do that already, your explaining the constitution. "We the People"
means we are all in this together as one nation. Go read it instead
of having your own delusions about how we pay for stuff.

It's called "being rich". If you had unlimited funds you'd understand why
you need to whip people like yourself who don't do what they are told
and just cash paychecks.

next boob please.

everyone within the US beneifts daily from things that are only possible because of NASA's past missions. Fine, don't fund it but then don't expect to have your life enriched from it.
