I don't think the standing 8 count should have been used there.

CAHEK 04-10-2004 08:51 PM

wtf ?? IMPOSSIBLE

the guy is huge and made like 3X MORE punches.

Digipimp 04-10-2004 08:51 PM

he and his brother have no heart, that's their flaw

I'm glad that cheap fuck lost. He flopped on top of Brewster and put all of his weight on brewsters back everytime they did the gay little hug thing.... whats that called lol.

Interesting POV .

What makes you think this? The comments after the fight,or is that your own opinion?

Indeed he was pretty exhausted at that point.

That's the way those two have always been. They had fights against nobodies and the first times they've had to face competition that didn't just go down they both showed they have no heart and give up or quit like Golota. They're all about the same. It's sad, they both had a ton of potential but no heart. Heart isn't something you can get through training, it's something you either have or you don't.

baddog 04-10-2004 09:11 PM

the standing 8 count was because he hit the ropes so hard, that if they had not been there he would have fallen over. A wall can not save you from being knocked down.

It really did not matter as he was soon knocked out on his feet and could not continue, the ref did the right thing by stopping the fight before he got seriously hurt.

He has a glass jaw, and really should consider taking up golf.

He was knocked out 5 seconds after the standing 8 count, so that is a pretty safe bet

You obviously did not watch the fight. Brewster used a method not recommended for all, let the other guy tire himself out pounding on you.

Wladimir thought he had it won, and let down his guard . . . . say goodnight Wladi.

Hey baddog,how you doin?

Good point regards the glass jaw,I kind of share that thought.
But it would be interesting to see a fight where he can "household" with his strength and go for 12 rounds.

Was it a glass jaw or high pacing - hoping to achieve a knock out asap?

Doing pretty good . . . as far as him ever going 12 rounds, it would be against a welterweight or lighter. He can not take a punch to save his life.

cayne 04-11-2004 06:07 AM

Can't understand that he lost. I was sure that he will own his opponent...now the could forget his global carrier...

ldinternet 04-11-2004 06:11 AM

Shit is fixed.

liquidmoe 04-11-2004 07:17 AM

I wasn't watching the beginning of the fight but I tuned for the last two and a half rounds and all I saw was a very tired Klitschko. His left hand was always down instead of up gaurding and unless he is De La Hoya, who can actually box like that, it's a sure sign he's out of strength. They dont take punches well, but I wouldn't really call that a glass jaw. He may have one, but in this case I think it was more a matter of him being just tired. Look at how he was after the fight. He wasn't knocked out, he was hyperventilating, like he just ran a marathon. Punched himself out, or had bad endurance training.

InsaneMidget 04-11-2004 07:35 AM

haha, i'm not sure half of you even seen the fight, Baddog is completely right. I like Klitschko a lot, wish he would have taken it, but he wore himself out, and Brewster's chin was just too much.

brickbat 04-11-2004 08:05 AM

I'm downloading the fight now so I haven't seen it, but sounds like Wlad's jaw has let him down again. A shame with his size and technical skills he coulda ruled at the top but a weak chin in the hw division is a hell of an albatross..

Granted, when you go to the scorecards in Vegas, anything can happen. . . but how is it fixed when the guy gets knocked out?

His skills? Please. He is trying to fight like an American instead of Eastern European and he looked like an idiot in the process.

He probably tired himself out just as much trying to lean on Brewster as he did punching him.

Okay, I have seen the fight now. He did do a few things that weren't in his 'European style' repertoire, namely holding, pushing, leaning and using more lateral movement (he seems to have pretty much stopped going straight back after punches). This will all be courtesy of his new trainer, Emmanuel Steward, who used to train Lewis to do all the same things.

Jury is still out on what caused the early fatigue after the weird blood tests, but I can tell you it wasn't the leaning, that's to make the other guy tired.

I don't think he has the chin, heart, meaness or guile to dominate in the hw division though. Time to cash in the chips and go home to Kiev.

Vitali, on the other hand, is one to keep watching.

damn, I missed it... :(

andi_germany 04-12-2004 10:49 PM

His blood sugar level was 6 times as high as normal. It seems he is an unnoticed diabetic and he has to finish his career.

I understand the purpose of leaning on the other guy, my point is that because he does not know how to do it, it could have contributed to his early fatigue.

I suppooooose that's possible, he certainly didn't look as good at holding and leaning as Lewis was (but had also had a lot less time to practice the techniques).

He looked worse at holding than leaning too, but then Brewster was having to expend a lot of energy when he fought against the clinches. Brewster was the smaller guy too though so *juggle imaginary weights*..

And to andy: his blood sugar level was 4X higher, not 6. There's a brief post-fight interview with Wladamir and Vitali here (first one to have taken place, as far as I know).
