How Many Of You Webmasters Own Or Rent Your Home?
Just wanted to get a concensus...
These days with the way low interest rates are and the very low downpayments necessary, how is it that anyone continues to rent? Yes I am sure in places like LA and New York buying condos or apartments can be quite expensive but for the rest of the country for the most part, just about anyone should be able to get themselves into a house or condo. So what's your story? Is it a financial situation? Is it a lifestyle choice? Are you just not ready to settle down with that kind of commitment? DH |
Everyone either rents or owns, no?

Own my own condo. I am 23 now, and bought it when I was 18 actually.

Not sure of Canada but our values have moved up quite a bit to match the gain made with lower interest rates. I used to own an apt building and we lost tons of our best tenants to home ownership in the 2000-2002. I hear this has slowed down a bit.

I own my own home.
We have three of us here in 2500sq feet. I have a rather large office with two complete work stations set up, five bedrooms, a guest room, and a huge playroom. It's state law here in Arizona to have a pool, and mine has a waterfall. I can afford a much larger house, but we already have entire rooms that we never use. I think instead of getting a larger house I'm gonna start buying other houses to rent out - investments. In a year or two apartments will cost more than my monthly mortgage so now is the time to buy. |
i own a 1bd coop,

waiting for my book from carlton sheets on how to buy one no money down

I was wondering about this myself. I have a chance to buy a two bedroom condo in a small town for less than $60,000 Canadian.
Charge $500 a month rent and this will cover the mortgage and taxes and still leave me with a profit, but not if I can't keep it filled. Almost anyone can buy a house with just 5% down, and there are plenty around here for way less than $100,000. So for renters I am either going to be looking at welfare cases, single mothers on mother's allowance, or people that can't hold down a job for whatever reason. That's if I can even keep it filled at all. |
Once I am done school I will buy a home.
Or if I move back to Canada. |
I rent for now but I hope to buy a place out in AZ in a year or two but for now cheap ass rent in Indiana is good enough for me

rental properties.. etc.. |
I also rent ... as I move once every 3 or 4 years :1orglaugh
I get bored if i stay at the same place for a long time. |
I rent for the same reason as others.. Im not staying here long enough to buy anything.
