using instead of 

when do you use it?

say you have vertical listing of tables... i think if you use to space your tables it has to load them all before displaying, but putting around them it does not...

can anyone verify this?

This is correct but I never use it. Only to justify text otherwise it's all about the

The paragraph tags does not prevent the inline parsing of table data like the table-layout:fixed property does.

line breaks are used to force a line to wrap at the desired position. It doesn't affect the box model used by the paragraph tags.
