New version of GFY coming soon... what features would you like to see?
 

Personally, I'd like to see private messages enabled in the new version.
Let's say I want to get in touch with another webmaster and a PM would be the easiest way. :)
Not everyone has ICQ in profile, so when I want to get in touch with someone, then I have to start a thread "webmaster X, please contact me", or "who's got the icq of webmaster X". Then this thread either get's lost in 2 hours, or I or somenoe else bumps it, but then it only causes that more unimportant threads are in the main forum.
PM's would solve this problem.
Surely, there must be a way to eliminate spammers, so either those who would spam others on PM's would get automatically banned, or poeple would have the opion to accept PM's only from people from their "buddy lists"...

I'd like to see an option which tells you if the user is online or offline.. (like on the bottom of every reply and shit..)

If seen that on several other boards and I think it'll be a great plus for this board.

-more smileys
-image-text verification on search so there is no limit to search frequency/timing and no potential for hacking or dos
-having flash enabled would be nice, but i guess its insecure.
-enhanced search, this one is pretty clunky
-some way to mark threads and put in your watch list or favorites list rather than having to search to keep up with things
-private messaging

I'd be happy with just the search and PM function enabled...

IF private messages are brought in i would suggest a restriction on the use of it be brought in with it - IE - restrict permission of usage of private messages to members with a certain post count only .. ie - 1000 or 2000 this would prevent mis use of it from spammers

Yes!! I type fast and make spelling mistakes as do many people here and it sucks you can't go back and fix them.

I'd also like to see stats on our posts. Top posters and total views built in.

I'm with you KRL! Speed = typos and then you're lucky to get to edit one in 20. Even when I use the dsl, I raarely get time to edit... the board seems to be running slower each day. :(


Best feature to add in?! AUTO BAN when someone whines about the search feature!! lol Use Google Advanced and get better AND faster results and quit crying.

To be honest, I doubt that the features that had been listed in this thread, will be implemented.

But at least the search is working now... :thumbsup

Does Google give you a list of all threads you have posted in with a quick 1-glance to see which ones have been replied to? Clicking each old thread to see (even if bookmarked) takes a LOT of time that could be spent reading other threads on this fast moving board.
