A glass just exploded in my hand for no reason at all
I just picked a standard glass out of the closet and started to move towards the refrigerator a couple metres away. Halfway there the glass exploded in my hand and sprayed little pieces of glass several metres in every direction. I didn't put pressure on the glass and it was not coming straight out of the dish washer (nor was it overly hot or cold for any other reason either). The explosion was rather violent, but my hand suffered no cuts at all.
I am serious. :eek7 Any theories? |
It's simple. GHOSTS
RUN MOTHER FUCKER RUNNN!!!! |

No, seriously, I know there is a scientific explanation to this and hopefully some of you can come up with a theory or two. Tempurature differences isn't it. Nor ghosts. |
That happend to me too..... but it was a crack pipe and I was hanging out with Richard Pryor .... LOL ...

High sound frequencies from an undetectable earthquake? That begins to sound plausible.

Minor amounts of pressure from your hand and more than likely a small stress fracture that was already in the glass. Proper pressure on the correct area caused a chain reaction resulting in the glass shattering as if it were dropped.
Or someone with a silencer took a shot at you and missed, who have you pissed off lately. |
Sounds like something that happened to me over the last month.
There's a spot on my desk where I keep my drink and an ashtray. Over the last month I've had 2 drink glasses and a heavy glass ashtray just break into pieces! The glasses happened in front of my eyes , the ashtray while I was out of the room. There is no shelf for anything to fall onto them and one of the drinks was just lukewarm water. I need some theories too or I may need to move out! |
No biggie...that shit happens all the time.
|
You keep your glasses in a closet?
|
It is just like a fart with a little juice. It happens....but it doesn't happen all the time.

I saw something similar to this on a techtv outake once. A guy was holding this little glass container, and it just exploded in his hand.. I think it may have something do with pressure points or something :disgust |
don't worry about it.
It's just a glitch in the matrix :thumbsup |
it's the ghost of porno past taking retribution for you not crediting his copywritten pics ;[

I remember just happening to look at a small juice glass and the thing exploded right in front of me...I wasn't trying to make the glass break..I just happened to be looking at it...
I wish I could do shit like that with my mind on purpose. |
I have a perfectly good explanation for that. Here goes....you're full of shit. That's a pretty good explanation dont cha think? You're a drama queen and need to seek :helpme

And I am not making this up. Other people have also experienced it as you can read in some of the responses. |

Pressure and fracture in the glass. Happened to me before.

Someone is an idiot. |
if the glass were a bit cold and your hand kinda hot, the difference of temperature can make the glass explode. Even if it's a little difference ( some glasses are more fragile during the production or if they already fell down).
|
Some chick at a party I threw put ice in a wine glass once. It froze, broke, and cut her up pretty bad.

If a glass breaks that is just the magicof physics at work....no biggie...
If you have metal cups start twisting and all your furniture floating in mid air, I'd be worried for something a little more than just physics magic at play |
I would like to help you with the answer you seek.
Without knowing where you are located (and your bsb+acount number) I have to leave out external environmental factors. I was most likely a build up of static electricity exciting the atoms in the glass to the point of chaos(did you walk across carpet etc etc). When it happened to me it brought me 7 years of fucked up stats. I hope this is not true in your case. |
