What exactly would this be used for?

Easy backups, etc without having it connected to a workstation.

I have looked at these before.

are they worth it? are there exploits for this wireless system? like recent ones?

Is it worth it?

The EFG120 is selling for around $700 and yet I can buy an EIDE Western Digital 200GB drive for about $120 and slap that into a barebones AMD Athlon 1500 for another $180, and then install a 802.11G wireless card for another $75.

If you are one of these IT purchasing agents that loves Cisco gear, its great, otherwise I think its a giant waste of money.

Security wise, dunno, I have yet to give this model a really good pounding, but it would dictate that you would follow all the protocols for having another wireless product in the office.
