Should I Be Using a Enter/Warning Page
 

I just got done reading is article about A-sh-crof-t and the US gov.:

And it kinda scared the shit outta me. I started to think of ways to protect my ass. Of course one of the ways would be to have an Enter-Warning page. I can get one of my attorneys to hahahahaha it up.

How much do these pages actually protect a corporation? And should there be anything in particular that I should state in it besides the fact that the user might see some adult situations, obscenities, and beer drinking idiots.

If it helps, I am running an adult humor site, E/N.

They do next to nothing but add another page to your site. Unless of course it collected some personal information that you could use to verify they are either an adult or in an area where you wish to prohibit. Which then makes the tour useless.

Not quite as important in terms of ass-saving, but what about the relevance of a warning page and SE rankings? We have warning pages on all of our sites for the legal issues, but I cannot help but wonder if this is hurting our SE rank.

here's a helpful hint about your adult website...never under any circumstances EVER say you have, or might have "obscene" material.

THAT alone will get you in enough trouble to possibly lock you up. We don't deal with obscene material. It's adult oriented material. But not OBSCENE at all. Never ever say that.

I suggest a warning at the top of your main page like http://www.sublimedirectory.com or a full warning page.

Sublime has a really good disclaimer, but wouldn't you be worried about the child p**n words? Could a SE bring unwanted attention to a site?

Hell these days you can never be too careful, since the obscenity laws arent really defined at all. It could take 1 person to complain about your content and BOOM you're in a spermload of trouble.
