Man bets everything?

This dude is betting everything he has on a roulette table in Vegas.

Article

Its small amount if thats EVERYTHING he owns, but none the less its still ballsy.

Red or Black...

Kinda like the adult biz.

Project-Shadow 04-08-2004 12:27 PM

Yeha thats being advertised on Sky One here all the time..

The problem with this is that if he wins, other idiots are gonna do the same thinking its a great way to win money...
If he loses well, he loses you feel sorry for the guy and sky probably buys his stuff back =P

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 04-08-2004 12:28 PM

The article says the video guys will be taping em 1 week afterwards.

It could be really short if the guy hangs himself:1orglaugh

kimzar 04-08-2004 12:32 PM

balsy move, hope the guy wins

MattO 04-08-2004 12:33 PM

It'd be funny if he wins, then lets it ride, then loses.

LexiLexxx 04-08-2004 12:33 PM

A rented tux what happens if he loses and then has to give it back. Does that mean he's in his underwear?

liquidmoe 04-08-2004 12:45 PM

He sold all of his clothes which means when he gives it back he will be naked, he's probably going commando in that tuxedo.

Michaelious 04-08-2004 12:47 PM

Actually, if he's fairly young, that's not a bad amount of cash. Think about it, most people don't own their cars or their house, the bank does. I've only been paying on my house for 4 years out of a 30 year loan. If I sold it I might not even turn a profit. This guy must have had a decent amount of equity in his home.

Rich 04-08-2004 01:23 PM

Nice, now that's balls out gambling. :thumbsup

Thats a terrible bet. If I was gonna bet everything I owned; I'd at least hope the odds were in my favor!

Rich 04-08-2004 01:28 PM

ahhhh ok, I get it now.

Actually, he's just betting that the celebrity status associated with the TV coverage will be worth more than he stands to lose.

You know most roulette tables are rigged right?

........ I'de have a 4foot tall and 9 inch in diameter tube filled with water and on a 4 foot stand, then see if its black or red. and make heads or tails stand forone or the other, then after the roulette table spun, I'de drop a coin. This is the only fair way.. they can simple run that little ball wherever they want.

dav555add 04-08-2004 01:34 PM

insanesurfer 04-08-2004 02:33 PM

What people will do to get on tv

Illicit 04-08-2004 02:43 PM

Its a scam to get famous... he will end up with more money then he started with even if he loses.

I don't get the whole tub and coin thing, but regarding the rigged roulette table thing, at least in vegas, there is NO way that the roulette tables in the big casinos are rigged. Those places are so regulated that it just doesn't make ANY sense to risk losing a billion dollar casino for a few rigged roulette tables. No way in hell.

HOWEVER, it would be in the casino's best interest if this guy WON, so he better hope that they are rigged (which they are not). The casino would end up paying what... $138,000. For that payout, they'd get international news coverage that gamblers win big there, and would get at least a few hundred million $ in extra gaming revenue from tourists wanting to bet in their "lucky" casino.

I was thinking the same thing. 138,000 is a drop in the bucket for them, and everyone knows that alot of gambler's are incredibly superstitious...they'd be lining up around the block. Probably to play at the very same roulette wheel, too :)
