I just got a speed ticket.

Hi guys,

I won't lie to you, I'd like to drive fast.
And today I got caught after long time. The good thing was that the cups were pretty cool guys, so it didn' t cost me so much.
Do you like drive fast too or are you the good driver?

brickbat 04-08-2004 09:32 AM

I'm with Nader on this one, down with the deathmobiles! :winkwink:

itzjamiex 04-08-2004 09:33 AM

LauraLee 04-08-2004 09:34 AM

i love speed, there for i love to drive fast. as i have grown up i have realized it's just not worth the potential accidents (or tickets for that matter).
there are plenty of other places to find the adrenaline :2 cents:

nofx 04-08-2004 09:36 AM

sorry to hear about that. how fast were you going over?
I love to drive fast, i've gotten probably 6-7 speeding tickets in my life. FUCKING SUCKS! they fine you out the ass!
I've learned to keep it a little bit over the speed limit now, my next purchase is going to be a radar detector.

:BangBang: cops

blazi 04-08-2004 09:36 AM

depends on what mood I'm in while I'm driving I guess.

Volantt 04-08-2004 09:38 AM

I didn't buy a fast car to drive 65mph ...

I wrote this morning on a local car forum:

So, last week I drove to Vancouver in the morning to go mountain biking. I decided to try and drive the exact speed limit, in the slow lane.

I live along highway 99, so I was taking highway 99, to Oak and 25th.

Along the 99 until the tunnel, I got passed quite a bit, but there was no road rage or anything. Just your typical SUV tailgating and getting cut off. Oh, I was driving my red S2000.

At the tunnel where the limit is 80 coming over the crest of the hill, I slowed down to 80. I was promptly nearly rear-ended several times. I was honked at, passed, and cut off by several drivers. The merge lane also became a little scary as drivers had to slow down or speed even further to merge. I was only doing the speed limit and following all rules of the road.

Once out of the tunnel I drove to the bridge without incident. Upon getting to the Oak Street bridge I slowed down to the posted limit of 60. Oh... my... god... being in the slow lane is like you are still marked for death. I think I had every driver behind me in a blind rage. The traffic was passing me in the fast lane like I was standing still. Literally it reminded me of when I goto Safeway in White Rock and how I pass grannies walking at .000001 kilometer per year to get to the meat counter for peppercorn steaks. I swear, people were just losing it behind me. I kinda chuckled.

Oak street wasn't so bad I suppose. Driving at 50 kph was only acceptable because it's 3 lanes wide. I got passed by a B.C. transit bus with only a couple inches to spare.

Lesson: Do the speed limit, almost cause accidents

A girl after my own heart.

I believe that the most dangerous drivers are the very old (too timid) and very young (too inexperienced), and often middle aged women who are just oblivious to everything. HOWEVER - I think there are certain things that, as a driver, and especially a YOUNG driver, you will never learn until you experience it or come close to it. It's kind of like riding a bike. Every little boy slips off his seat and cracks his nuts on the metal frame at least once, so he learns not to do it when he's older.

hjnet 04-08-2004 09:42 AM

I liked to drive fast in the past, and got many speeding tickets, some of them were quite expensive. Thank god I never had any accident, so I decided one day that it's not worth the risk, and since then I try to stay on the safe side :winkwink:

Firehorse 04-08-2004 09:43 AM

It depends on a lot of variables, the road, the weather, if I am alone in the car or on a bike etc.. Under safe conditions, yeah I love it! :thumbsup

4Pics 04-08-2004 09:46 AM

Well, I got caught in the city. In my country you are allowed to go 50km/per hour and I wasn't driving 80km/hour.
I am the kind of driver that always feels where I can go faster and where not. I am not the kind of risky driver, but honestly 50km/hour it's redicilous. And especially during spring and summer time they are everyhere and bullshit you for every single bullshit.
I like the law in USA where cups can stop you just for a reason, overhere they can whatever they want even just to make a fun of you assholes.:winkwink:

Axeman 04-08-2004 09:58 AM

fast is the only way for me or I get bored.

MetaMan 04-08-2004 11:17 AM

all women need to be off the road as the same with asian people. giving them tickets is the only way to free the road of congestion.
