Using my metric and the figures you've supplied $15k would mean it'd optimistically take over 2 1/2 years before the new owner started making bank from it.

I'd advise you to take the offer as most buyers won't want to have to wait that long, especially not in such a risky market, and for such a generic name.

Type-ins are type-ins. They never go away. They will only get larger the more people that go on the net. So the domain will never lose value. You talk about taking awhile to make it back. You also dont realize that you still have the original asset in your possession to resell as well. So it is always profit. Like buying a rental property.

I think you should take the 15K. I doubt you'll get more.

It's now selling for 20k and I still think it is a good investment @ 200 type-ins per day....

As he stated before. It's an asset that will not only increase in value with time ( domain prices increase over time typically ) but also with the sales you can make with 200 type-ins it's a nice little earner IMHO.

I'm sticking by my metric, and I'm also saying that we live in dangerous and uncertain times. No one posting on this board now knows what the world is going to look like in 2 1/2 years, and there's a LOT of things that could impact that are realistic possibilities.

i know type-ins are great, but

1. I've heard opposite opinions from the top domainers about their increasing / decreasing trends....so you never know that.
2. Now it is harder to get sales in all areas and a 200 daily type-in domain name won't make anyone rich.

I doubt anyone will make more than $350 per month with this domain if he is promoting SPONSORS.

Everything you do is a risk certainly... but i'll be most people can make more that $350 with 200 type-ins per day....

200 x 30 = 6000 type-ins per month... that's good traffic :-)
