Suspected Sept. 11 plotter freed in Germany

HAMBURG - Mounir el Motassadeq, the only man ever convicted of involvement in the Sept. 11 attacks against the United States, was released from jail in Germany on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Moroccan is free until his retrial in June on charges of helping three Hamburg-based al-Qaeda members who were among the 19 suicide hijackers whose actions killed almost 3,000 people in 2001.

i read he was released because both, the german and the US government didnt want provide the necessary proves to keep him arrested...
