Who here has had a domain name cancelled by GoDaddy for BS reasons???

This is fucking bullshit!!!

They cancelled one of my domains because they said I did not renew, yet I have reciepts and e-mails that show I did...

WTF can I do to make sure they do not resell it???

bringer 04-07-2004 09:45 AM

:1orglaugh uh, no.

I'll tell you however that it is a very popular club name that gets serious type in traffic.

I have a problem posting the name so someone else can try to register it, sorry.

Ive never had a problem with my go daddy domains. You could try powerpipe, they are cheap as well. Ive never had a problem with them either.

Fortunately the domain did not hit "redemption", so it was cleared up on the phone. I had 6 other domains renew with nooooo problem, but this one did not for some reason (glitch?).

scorescabaret.com is the domain.

I know man, and after coming here and seeing all the threads about what a croc of shit they are I have wanted to mave everything into a central location as far as another registrar. We tried this once and they made it a HUGE hassle to move the domains.

The only option I thought was wise at that point was to put everything on auto-pilot and let them all aut-renew, etc, and like I said earlier 6 other domains renewed at the same time but this one did not even though it was the same card, same account, and same renew cycle.

I'm going to start looking for another registrar today again I think.

You pay for what you get, time and time again this rings true.

I've used Register.com for years, never had any trouble at all. Sure I pay a little more but hell, you don't see me losing domains :)

ztik 04-07-2004 10:26 AM

They sold 3 of mine to another company. One day I goto check my sites and they are redirecting to some brokers site. The fucker wouldn't even sell them back to me :(
This was a couple years ago though so they might not do that anymore.

We used to use Register as well. Ever sold a company and included the corporate domain name in the sale? Register makes it nearly impossible to deliver the domain name. They will tie the name up for weeks or months to keep the account. The also have what they call 3rd party partners that manage to lock domains for stupid shit also, very similar to what Network Solutions does. This is why we no longer use Register. In fact, I started trying to transfer domains away from Register over 6 months ago and still do not have the transfers completed.
