Rictor 04-06-2004 09:05 PM

Bounced checks, that reminds me....was Perfection Jeff in Phoenix?

I never got one from him that bounced but many others did. He just never paid me! :BangBang:

peteinoz 04-06-2004 09:08 PM

with verotel

if a user does not deposit enough into their checking account in time etc..

verotel does not accept any further payments from this user

for this user to get a membership to your site again. they need to create a new user name etc to continue paying,

this also is a pain in the ass..

ArikaAmes 04-06-2004 09:09 PM

If possible, try to cash the check at the bank that the check is from, you'll have to pay like a $8 charge or something like that, but at least it doesn't fuck with your account.
That's what I do.

Guess there's no point in asking you to out the fucker...... although it would be nice to warn your fellow webmasters so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Guess if the same person ever does it again, that would be the time to out them. Shame to ruin someone over one bad cheque. Hopefully they make good on it.

herbal logic 04-06-2004 09:34 PM

someone needs to balance their checkbook:(

Easton 04-06-2004 09:35 PM

Sleazy, i know that feeling... my old mainstream company bounced my last commission check on me last november... for $1048

the only satisfaction i have is knowing the former owner is under massive fraud investigation, wanted by the provincial and federal police, and reportedly in hiding with his wife and kids from some supposed mob hit on his life

rowan 04-06-2004 09:39 PM

Sometimes honest mistakes do happen. In 5 years of running a small business in a previous life, I did bounce ONE cheque due to miscalculating the amount on cheques that had been written but not cashed. It was my mistake, and my misfortune that more than one company decided to deposit my cheques on the same day.

Not saying that it is excusable in your case, but mistakes can happen...

rowan 04-06-2004 09:40 PM

Then again... are you talking about a sponsor/company or a personal cheque?

yep... knowing he is on the run from the law and the mob and in hiding with his family kinda makes it all worthwhile!

pimplink 04-07-2004 02:11 AM

boincing checks are a real pain in the ass!

flashfire 04-07-2004 02:39 AM

Bouncing checks? :ak47: :BangBang:

DR_PHIL 04-07-2004 03:24 AM

they always act like they are SHOCKED that it bounces.

slapass 04-07-2004 05:20 AM

For local banks we used to just put it aside and check every few days to see if it was good. Then run over and get the money.

myjah 04-07-2004 07:15 AM

did you get charged a fee for that? my bank assesses a fee from my account each time a check bounces from someone else - i fucking hate that

Head 04-07-2004 08:55 AM

I lucky that hasn't happen to me lately!
Banks give over draft protection so that shouldn't happen. Tells you something about to person that issued the cheque!

overdraft isn't an issue for me

BVF 04-07-2004 09:18 AM

My reputation with the local liquor store would be ruined if a check that I cashed with them bounced :glugglug

Sly_RJ 04-07-2004 09:31 AM

I had a check bounce on me about a year and a half ago. It really screwed up some things for me and became a huge pain in the ass.
