Do you think maybe all the hotlinking we do here brings on the Attackers?
 

One might guess, maybe some people the masses hotlink may be some of the talented GFY Attackers.

We do a lot of link hotten here in one day, maybe we pissing people off?

if people are pissed, they need to hit Google for .htaccess info

script kiddies can't afford domains, they use geocities

well i know when i post a link of my site on here my Bandwith shoots thru the roof so that is possible fletch

probably run up a few bandwidth bills. maybe made some people homeless. sad.

of course we are...i remember when i first started i was being hotlinked on a couple of tgp pages before i knew what htaccess was and it cost me an arm back then lol

I tripping waiting for my bw bill at 5$ a gb after those bianca chatforum bbs had raped me posting all my big pics...

Now imagine how some dude hosting his (non profit fun site) on limited plan or still getting ripped on prices since some mainstream hosts never decreased the per gb charges.
then coupled with the fact that most sites aint making money it makes for some pissed of site owners

so yes it is more than possible

even if I GIS a pic I put it on my server, but mostly coz I hate when an old thread gets bumped and all the pics are red X's coz whoevery they linkhotten from dumped them

i think if someone is smart enough to attack gfy they would know how to stop their images from being hot linked
