Saw Hellboy and LadyKillers today...

Man what a disappointment!

Hellboy had me for the first half...like the set up...dug the premise...but it lost me during the last quarter of the movie..not quite sure why...thought the relationship with him and the Fire Chick was forced...and I thought the ending lacked a certain punch. Bummer.

Then saw LadyKillers, thinking it would be a great flick. Was wrong about that. Surprised too. The Coen Brothers are usually a sure thing, but something was missing here...was very slow for the first half (almost fell asleep), got pretty funny towards the end, but overall was a letdown.

Already saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Dawn of the Dead...both kicked ass.

Guess the next good flick coming out soon is Kill Bill Volume 2.

seems like almost all the newer movies nowadays have to end up with a guy & a girl in love, i hate that!

they always force the love issue

eternal sunshine IS a awesome movie

Ladykillers was VERY different, but I liked it, It was funny in some places and just strange in others.

But the best line was when she asked "Like Fudd"?

I laughed my ass off once I realized what she was talking about; it took me 15 mins to stop so I have no idea what was said right after that.

It is a crime of cinema that the Ladykillers was remade. The original is a brillant film and now people will remember this version.

man i was going to go see hell boy and heard from several people that it sucked, hate when a movie looks good on commercials and then sucks, more times then not when this happens all the good parts were in the commercials

I think Hellboy started losing me when I realized that the voice of the fish guy was Niles from Frasier. I've been told the actual comic is much better, but I just didn't find myself able to like the characters in the movie at all.
I walked out halfway through and got my money back.

enough comic movies already

Walking Tall is better than those movies :thumbsup

No way, man, it's been a long time coming for a lot of these stories to be put on a big screen, and now the technology is finally around to make it good (or somewhat good in most cases).

Let it happen, enjoy it wihile it;s still big, sooner or later someone will really get the formula right.

God no, to the rest.

I haven't seen Kill Bill part 1 yet. Tarantino movies are hit and miss with me though...I usually like them okay...never love them like most people seem to. My favorite is probably From Dusk Till Dawn, just cause I love vampire movies.

When you're talking Tarantino, you're talking "Pulp Fiction" baby!

:thumbsup

I thought Ladykillers was actually a funny, entertaining movie.
Marlon Wayans was great in it. In fact, so was Tom Hanks in his own special way. :2 cents:

Thanks for the heads up. I'll not bother checking this one out. It looked shitty on the trailers. However, nothing sucked more than the Hulk... Except for the complete works of the Hulk... and the Hulk Experience featuring Dr. Banner.
