Anyone Sell Stuff On eBay?

Just curious...if so, does it do well for you?

My girlfriend was thinking about getting into the whole craze

i am a lurker 04-03-2004 05:22 PM

depends on what you are selling

buddyjuf 04-03-2004 05:22 PM

I would love to jump in, but I gotta find stuff at good prices in order to sell them :(

Tytan 04-03-2004 05:24 PM

My bro does

making some good money

:thumbsup

WebTitan 04-03-2004 05:25 PM

i do, always have atleast 1 auction running

depends on what you are selling. 2 great sellers on ebay are cell phones, if you can get them real cheap and video goames, xbox, ps2, etc. looking for a place to get those dirt cheap myself right now.

Webasic 04-03-2004 05:29 PM

Yeah, I bought like 30 xbox games off there...haven't had a problem with any of them.

B40 04-03-2004 05:48 PM

I do a bit, but usually just stuff I don't need anymore, old computer hardware for example...

Hardest part is finding a decent wholesaler with prices low enough (after shipping) to make it worth your time

Tuna 04-03-2004 06:42 PM

if you have the right product youll make some nice money.

Ash@phpFX 04-03-2004 07:19 PM

Screaming 04-03-2004 10:30 PM

the pawn shop my friend works for sales stuff there and averages like 30k or more a month now i realize that this is a pawn shop but the moral here is that there is a good market once you have a good feedback amount and good products

woj 04-03-2004 10:35 PM

I just sell some random stuff I don't need anymore... Doesn't really generate any money, but good way to get rid of some stuff in a productive way....

I run 3 different accounts and sell all kinds of stuff...

ebooks, wholesale electronics, car audio equipment, and lots more

it wont be easy for her to just 'get into the craze' but its really fun, a lot more fun than running a website imho

Sold this classic Rolls on eBay. It was owned by Judy Garland at one time. I had two collectors bidding against each other on it. The guy that won didn't even see it in person. Just wired the money same day. Fucking amazing.

:winkwink:

not true

australia is in asia - so you can get stuff at rock bottom prices - even the good stuff liek portable mp3 players etc
you just gotta know where to go for wholesale distributors

we're in aus and our ebay biz is kicing ass (and a lot of our stuff comes in from US)

just depends what your selling too of course

dougeetx 04-04-2004 09:55 AM

:thumbsup

Goose 04-04-2004 10:13 AM

ebay is one of my most visited sites...It's just one of the biggest advantages of the internet - easily ruining your money balance without even move your ass ;)

Firehorse 04-04-2004 10:19 AM

As Kitty says our Ebay biz is kicking ass. We sell 100s of items every week and it is growing on a daily basis! :thumbsup

OK, heres the deal... you list on ebay, Boom you have Huge amounts of people searching that want to spend money... you need good suppliers so you can sell at reasonable prices. You need to be able to buy in bulk. Spend say $50000 on digital cameras and turn around and resell them. Research everything before you buy, know the average of what it is selling for. Adult shit sells like mad (in their general site) but if you put it in their adult section you get shit for sales (noone knows how to find the damn adult section) You will have your account canceled if you sell adult in the general section... mine did... however, I was making about 1000 a day untill they did :2 cents:

Chris 04-04-2004 10:23 AM

ebay is on and off

i sell alot of stuff from my moms store for her on ebay. stuff that they are getting rid of and over stocked items... if you are selling shit for 5$ .. dont even waste your time .. ebay fee's eat you ALIVE. if you are selling items ... say 2-3 a day that cost 50$ or so each .. then you will do pretty well for self.... but before you try to get into the ebay game .. make sure you have enough money in your bank to cover your self for awhile. it takes a bit to see a profit

Nicky 04-04-2004 10:33 AM

I have never sold anything on Ebay, just bought :) but im gonna try and find a good product to sell there :)

beemk 04-04-2004 11:20 AM

i sell quite a bit on ebay.

foe 04-04-2004 11:36 AM

shipping from australia is like 20 bucks

erehwon 04-04-2004 12:03 PM

I've been selling stuff here and there, I look at it as a garage sale with a better crowd than you can find driving down the street. I know that if I wanted to invest the time, I could make a living at it but I'd rather just clean out my closets.
