I can see!
Vision isn't completely perfect yet. It's certainly better 12 hours after surgery than it was the first couple of hours. Near vision is a bit fuzy, but I can see to do an update at least. (I never look at the pictures anyway..hehe..)
I go back in the morning (drive myself) for a check up. Doc said my vision will get better each day for the next few days. |
How's it feel when u wake up?
|
the pussy can see! its a miracle! take care PK!
|
Congrats on the laser surgery, PK!
|

:thumbsup |

I'd say yes. For any pain whimps.. 2 valium and the nerves go away and whatever drops they use to numb the eye work almost instantly.. heck.. they were pokin on it and I cold feel it. Yes worth it. Probably even more so in the next few days as things heal up. |
I'm thinknig about undergoing this surgery too!
congrats!! |
i take it you had laser surgery?
my dad is getting that very soon, its pretty cool technology |
Congrats PK, I can't imagine how good it must feel to have you vision back! :thumbsup
|
Isn't it a miracle?! I've seen people go from harsh Rx's like -8.00, glasses all thier lives, to 20/20 in 24 hours.
I have to mention though...you get what you pay for. Never go to one of those quacks who advertises in the newspaper for '1/2 off the second eye' etc... Ask for recommendations and referrals. Sounds like your Doc is top notch PK :) |
happy for you :)
congrats |

I did a lot of searching for docs. This one has been doing eye surgery for 18 years, is Mayo Clinic trained, and doesn't specialized in Lasik only. He's also patented several mechanisms and procedures that are used for Lasik. His clinic consists of 5 docs that do all sorts of eye-related surgeries. Lasik is just one morning a week. $3K and no more glasses or contacts. |
I've been thinking about getting this surgery for a while.. I keep breaking my glasses and I hate contacts (too fiddly and I'm one of those people that flinch whenever they have to poke themselves in the eye, which makes it doubly difficult).
I've read the eye surgery was a bit hit and miss though, maybe oversold in the media? Sounds like PK's has been successful though. Good to hear. |
congrats:)
|
I really want to have it done, but I'm too chicken shit to it :(
I'll just stick to my carrot juice... A friend of mine used to wear glasses, then he started drinking atleast 1 large glass of carrot juice everyday for about 6 months and he no longer needed glasses, vision became normal. -It's possible. |
goodluck!
|
wow. that's amazing. wasn't that just yesterday you went in?
i still have a light vision problem 20/100. but good to know - by the time i'm a canidate - it'll be even more routine |
nice to hear the surgery went fine...hope your vision becomes 100% fine very soon
I'm gonna submit a few ugly sites now, so you can accept them :winkwink: j/k |
Good to hear! :thumbsup
|
Great thread ! I'm glad it turned out well for you. I have to get that done, my viision is getting so much worse every year and I'm so tired of contacts since I'm on the pc or studying all the time. I just think it would make life a lot easier to be able to see again without lenses.
:thumbsup |
i read somewhere that you should wait until your eyes are REALLY jacked (and PK, from your description, yours were) before getting the Lasik as you can only have it 1 time (or maybe it is most effective the first time)... kind of like roids, you should only use them once you've hit a plateau

Did you remember to get the drops....
Otherwisse your eyes will crust over... |
you were awake when they did that right?
I don't think I'd be able to stay still... |

I am blind in one eye but ther is nothing that can be done about it |
whoohoo nice :thumbsup
|
I'm considering the same thing,,,but it scares the crap otta me
|
Getting ready to go for my 24 hour checkup in a bit. Distance vision this morning seems great! Still a bit fuzzy on the text on the monitor, but I think he told me that would take a day or two to settle back in.
|
needless to say, drive carefully
|
Al the best to you PK :)
and Yes Drive carefully:thumbsup oh and thanks for the recent listings :) |
PK, I sure hope the fuzziness goes away.
I know several people who have had the surgery. They seem to be perfecting it more and more. Most of the people I personally know who have had eye surgery (75%), suffer from night-time sensitivity to lights. What use to be normal glare has become an eye strain with blurring and eye watering when looking at freeway and car lights or bright lamps. Checking for the best possible doctor is so important. You did everything right. You should be very happy with the results. Thanks for sharing your positive experience. |
