Went to London (UK) today
I went to London to do a shoot.
It seems to be now on Red Alert. Police all over the place, warnings in the underground saying "we will shut down the underground if we find suspect bagage". It feels very tense. Glad I do not live there. |
fact: those posters have always been there in one form or another. London has never been unware of the possibility of terrorist attacks.
|
It's always been like that
It's looser now than at the height of the IRA, those days had rolling road blocks and the 'ring of steel' |
Its chaotic in epidemic proportions worldwide. This is what happens when world powers choose sides, and dont mind there own business.
Bush is the worst offender. PS. I am American, and a veteran, and highly dissappointed in the actions of our president. http://pornslinga.com/entropybanner/usa.gif |
In London we don't really give a shit anymore everyone continues as normal,
When I was working in Canada its 100 times worse, Red Alert this, Orange Alert that! then Back to Red Alert :Hollering |

London has been getting bomb attacks and threats for 30 years so it's pretty much business as usual. During the early 80's a hamburger bar in Oxford Street, just around the corner from my office was blown up: within a few hours the place was boarded up and people were strolling past as if nothing had happened.

i get a bit paranoid when I think about going to london but thats probably just the fact its full of moody pissed off looking people!

That's why the Scottish hate the english too :thumbsup hehehehe joking :1orglaugh |
I lived in Canary Wharf for 3 years, the security around there is probably higher than anywhere in the country. Road blocks were usually up and unless you had a reason to be there you couldn't drive anywhere near the tower itself. I'd have no hesitation in moving back there though, it was a great place to live.
As some said above, we've lived with the threat of terrorism long before Osamas little buddies came on the scene. |

Have fun and be safe!

the first time I ever heard from my husband on the phone was the day of the canary warf bombing. Now, I see canary warf from my balcony. I guess I know I am a londoner now. On the weekend I only briefly took note of how weird it was that my friends and I were climbing over security barriers outside of St. Pauls in order to hail a midnight cab.

Post some pics when you return.

I remember Maggie times and the IRA shit. Nothing new :ak47:
|
And you are only talking about the uniformed officers. There's 100's of plain clothed police patrolling the underground daily now:glugglug
|
we are relatively lucky here in Australia, but that could change very quickly.
|
Have fun and bring some hot chick home!
